Sometimes when you look into a lens, you don’t see your value yet.
You see the pose.
You see the lighting.
You see the little things you wish were different.
You see yourself trying to “get it right.”
But sometimes, the person on the other side of the lens sees something you haven’t fully recognized yet.
Years ago, my sister and I did a magazine feature in Ocala. Two Black sisters. Both pharmacists. Walking through downtown, laughing, posing, telling pieces of our story in spaces rich with history, including an old pharmacy that had been transformed into a beautiful boutique.
To us, it was a fun photo shoot. A beautiful experience. A memory we were grateful to share.
But we had no idea what others were seeing.
Then we found out we had made the cover.
Not because we asked. Not because we expected it. The editor-in-chief told us it was a unanimous decision. And when we saw that cover, something shifted.
It was one of those moments where you say, “Wait… that’s us?”
The magazine was in grocery stores, libraries, banks, offices, and businesses all over the community. Our family was woven into the story too, old pictures, memories, legacy, even moments from my senior prom. It was more than a feature. It was a mirror.
And sometimes, God will use somebody else’s lens to show you what He already placed inside of you.
So this is your reminder:
Do not underestimate the beauty of your everyday becoming.
Do not downplay the work you are doing just because it feels normal to you.
Do not assume your story is ordinary because you are living it every day.
Somebody is watching you build.
Somebody is inspired by your discipline.
Somebody sees courage in what you keep calling routine.
You may just be showing up, working, serving, creating, mothering, leading, healing, praying, figuring it out one day at a time.
But from the other side of the lens?
There is power there.
There is legacy there.
There is a whole story worth seeing.
That is what CMe See You Studios is about.
We see your vision.
The world sees you.
