Using AI to just create more content, captions, and output isn't helpful unless it fits into the grander vision for your business.

I've seen several business owners use AI to create a content schedule that looks great on paper, but doesn't fit their current capacity. A tool that was supposed to simplify their life has now added more stress and created more tasks to their to do list.

Instead of using AI just because other businesses are using it or somebody told you that you need to, I suggest looking for the ways it can REALLY help you. Ask yourself if it makes sense for you.

Social media can absolutely change and grow your business. But expecting overnight success often leads to frustration.

The best results come from consistency, having clear goals set, and building a long-term strategy.

In June of 2019, I graduated with my Masters of Science in Strategic Marketing from Bellevue University.

It is still one of the proudest accomplishments of my adult life. At the time, I worked, commuted over an hour each way, went to school and had small kids. It took a lot of nights and weekends to make it happen.

The program helped me further my expertise in marketing in ways my career hadn't at that point and cemented the idea that marketing should be done with a holistic approach. No one channel, medium, or tactic should carry all of your marketing efforts.

Some dates just stick with you. 🗓️

February 12th keeps showing up in my journey with Ama Marketing, and I'm taking it as a sign that we're on the right path.

→ 8 years ago today, I started my Master's in Strategic Marketing
→ Last year, we started in Tahlequah Regional Development Authority and Cherokee Nation's Innovation Hub Small Business Bootcamp
→ This year, I'm diving deep into AI to bring even more value to the small businesses I serve

Every February 12th reminds me why I do this: growing alongside my clients, sharpening my skills, and finding new ways to help small businesses thrive.

I love all the resources that this community pours into it's small business owners.

Last week's Small Business Summit was another wonderful example.

It was an honor to serve on a panel alongside Josh Hutchins Attorney at Law and discuss the day-to-day ways we use AI in our businesses.

I hope everyone in attendance took away some nuggets of knowledge that they are easily able to implement.

I've had several conversations with clients recently about AI search results.

I found this study on preferences for using a search engine vs. AI from Neil Patel, and I found it very thought-provoking.

Most people still prefer using a traditional search engine, which shows that SEO still matters.

In fact, "87% of ChatGPT Pro and Plus users still prefer Google for search."

Taking that into account when you're creating your marketing strategy is key.

Here's a little Monday humor.

Any one that knows me, knows that I have strong feelings about the em dash, ellipses, and other punctuation. My heart hurts that ChatGPT is trying to claim the em dash as it's own. I also refuse to give up my em dash for fear over being dismissed as AI writing.

I encourage every business owner to write in a voice that feels like their own. If using AI, please edit and modify as necessary to not lose that. Your authenticity is what sets you apart from other businesses.
