Is it most effective to perform cardio before or after weight training?

In my experience, the optimal approach depends on individual goals.

Personally, I prefer to do cardio after weight training so I can undertake strength training when I'm fresh, thereby allowing for maximum intensity.

Additionally, since glycogen is primarily used as fuel during weight training, subsequent cardio sessions can more easily tap into fat stores for energy.

I followed this protocol prepping for shoots and still do so anytime I’m in a cutting phase, as for me it works best.

And remember, since there is no cookie cutter that works for everyone as an individual, the best way to find out what works best for you is to experiment and see for yourself.

Before I started lifting people would make fun of me for me for being skinny and call me names like “stick boy” and “slim.”

And as you can see, I did have a plate of spaghetti arms. Got called that too come to think of it.

Those insults became part of my “why” for starting my fitness journey and I have to say it was an awesome feeling having some of those same people asking me how they could build their arms!

Thats why I always say, it’s not where you start, but where you finish that matters!

Case in point, if a nutrition plan isn’t sustainable the results it gives won’t be either.
