ALL of the babies were hanging out in the mangrove nursery this morning! From stingrays, to a baby black tip shark, and even a mother and baby manatee, this was one of the best paddle adventures I’ve had in a long time! 🌳🌊

These mangrove forests form the perfect shallow and protected environment for juvenile animals to grow up in and it was so special seeing it in action first hand!

Do you prefer spiders or mangrove tree crabs? 🫣🦀

Funny enough I’m terrified of spiders but I LOVE these funny little crabs!

I love paddle boarding through the mangrove tunnels in St. Pete and today’s adventure was so full of wildlife! Unfortunately the mosquitoes are out in full force already but it was worth it for the animal encounters! 🌊🚣‍♀️🧜🏼‍♀️🦀🩵✨

40 MILLION year old beach CRYSTALS that GLOW?! And you’re telling me I can find them right here in Tampa Bay?! ✨🪸

Agatized coral is actually the state stone of Florida but it feels like a local secret! While most people are out on the beaches looking for sea shells, Ben and I are looking at rocks and we always get questions about it!

You truly never know what you can find on the beaches here if you slow down and look a little closer! 🩵🐚🪸✨🧜🏼‍♀️🌊

New crab alert! Have you ever heard of the granulate shellback crab? 🦀

These guys like a hermit crabs flat cousin. They are able to secure themselves into a bivalve shell and wear it around for protection! If you’ve ever noticed a shell walking on its own, it was probably one of these guys! ✨🦪🦀🌊🧜🏼‍♀️

The Flying Gurnard is one of the most BEAUTIFUL fish I’ve ever seen! 🐠

When they walk along the sea floor with their fins closed they honestly resemble moths but when they swim they reveal the most gorgeous blue spotted wings!

Beachcombing and looking for sea shells is a favorite pastime for tourists and locals but finding a live snail will always be the most special to me! Knowing that these snails and mollusks spent their whole lives creating something so beautifully unique is so magical!
