Well, I've gone and done a thing lol! Joined the amazing value-added agriculture Business Development Instructors and team at the Chesapeake Agriculture Innovation Center (CAIC) as their Operations Manager. Few things bring as much joy to this little Appalachian grandgirl heart as a patch of ripening wild berries here on our farm...first of the black raspberries are ready...some blackberries in flower and early nubs...and those dreaded, but delicious, invasive wineberries getting fuzzy all over...now, to get our fair share before the birds and the bears...

In this house, scratch made is a love language...I've been baking shortbread for Mikey on VD day for 29 years now...since the early days when he was stationed in San Diego and I was in Boston in grad school...my fav recipe changed a few years ago, when I finally decoded my Aunt Carole's shortbread recipe and started making it rather than my early recipe from Fannie Farmer...the recipe may have changed...but not the love it's made with:)

Maryland's sustainable ag folks are a hale and hearty lot, showing up by the hundreds for the first day of annual meeting...my fav session so far was on Profitable Meat Marketing from Matt LeRoux of Cornell University...cannot wait to share the Meat Pricing Tool with my protein producer friends!
