My latest key-art poster design for the 2025 Sunscreen Film Festival slated to celebrate their 20th anniversary April 24-27th.
This design celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Sunscreen Film Festival, an event dedicated to the art and craft of independent filmmaking. Inspired by the festival's legacy and its vibrant community, the design merges classic Hollywood aesthetics with a modern edge. The bold Roman numerals (MMV - MMXXV) symbolize not only the years 2005 - 2025 but also the timelessness of storytelling through film. The juxtaposition of these numerals against the dramatic spotlight beams (XX or 20) evokes the glamour and excitement of cinema, while the silhouettes of palm trees subtly anchors the festival in its sunny coastal roots. The monochromatic palette, accented with bursts of warm yellow, relfects the dynamic energy of the festival while maintaining an elegant and professional tone. The yellow highlights tie back to the Sunscreen Film Festival's iconic logo, underscoring its commitment to creativity and innovation in film festival exhibition. As an artist, my goal was to honor two decades of celebrating independent film while setting the tone for the future. This poster invites viewers to step into a space where light, shadow, and imagination converge - a fitting tribute to the transformative power of cinema.
