Conflict of Interest may be the friendliest band I have gotten to listen to since starting this journey. The keyboard player greeting people as they came in and out of The Lot was just one of many things that make me say that.

It was nice getting to catch up with a bunch of people from the Rusty Chicken at The Rialto and actually just sit and listen to some music for a change.

Besides just being super nice guys, Conflict of Interest is a killer band that I hope I get to do a little video work for in the future. And The Lot in Ada, is a super cool spot that I need to visit more.

I will always credit Rusty Chicken at The Rialto and Ten Acre Rock for giving me the push I needed to start this journey. What Misty Chapman and Tim are creating in Denison is going to be nothing short of AMAZING. I cant wait to film some shows there. If youre looking for a way to support local music this is a super cool opportunity.

A pretty cool full-circle moment for me.

A couple of the guys who helped spark my journey into filming live music got to take the stage at a sold-out show at Sugar Creek Casino , playing with Clay Aery opening for Aaron Watson.

One thing I've learned is that when you get the opportunity to share in someone else's big moment, you want to capture as much of it as you can. Not just the performance, but the process. The anticipation, the behind-the-scenes moments, the conversations, the soundcheck, and everything in between.

Thankful I got to be there to document a small piece of their journey.

I feel incredibly lucky to be on this journey of filming live music. It's taken me places I never expected, introduced me to some amazing people, and given me a front-row seat to some truly incredible musicians.

But some of my favorite moments don't happen during the show, they happen during soundcheck.

An empty venue. A few people scattered around the room. The band dialing everything in before the doors open.

It's hard to explain, but there's something incredibly personal about those moments. Maybe it's knowing what's coming. Maybe it's hearing the songs before the crowd arrives. Whatever it is, standing there with a camera in hand as the room fills with music and anticipation never gets old.

Got the chance to head back down to the Stockyards in Fort Worth this weekend and film a couple friends playing with Clay Aery at the Rhinestone Saloon

Honestly, it felt a little like stepping back into a different chapter of my life. Being back in the area I grew up around while doing something that wasn’t even on my radar back then was a weird but really cool feeling.

Had an awesome time, met some great people, and Clay and the band absolutely killed it all night.

I’ve got a TON of editing to get caught up on this week, but expect a good amount of content from Clay coming soon.

This Spur of the Moment Session led me back to the Red Barn Saloon where I got to meet Aaron Gibson

Spending a night listening to Aaron and having a great conversation during his break gave me a deeper appreciation for the musicians out here grinding.

Pouring their hearts out in rooms where sometimes only a few people may truly be listening while the rest of the world keeps moving around them.

For the late nights. The long drives. The early mornings getting up for work because music alone doesn’t always pay the bills. For the conversations and smiles after hours of performing when they’re probably exhausted and would rather just sit in silence.

And especially for pouring the same energy into those last few songs as they did the first one after they’ve been playing for hours.

Most of all, it made me appreciate the part of themselves they share with us every time they step on stage.

Seven years ago I was just beginning my journey into videography when I had the honor of filming American Legion Tishomingo, OK - Davis-Moore Post 164 placing flags at the cemetery for Memorial Day.

At the time I was just trying figure out what I was doing, and didn't fully realize the importance of what I was doing in capturing moments like this.

There’s something very powerful about watching people quietly take the time to honor those who never made it home.

Still one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever had the chance to film.

Alright Texoma people, I need your help.

I’m looking for a REALLY cool location to film an acoustic solo artist performing a couple songs. I’m thinking old church vibes, vintage buildings, abandoned-but-safe spaces, old wood interiors, rustic barns, moody neon, historic spots… honestly anything with character and atmosphere.

If you know of anywhere in the Texoma area that might fit the vibe, drop it in the comments or message me. Bonus points if it’s somewhere most people wouldn’t think of.

Trying to make something special here.

Spur of the Moment Sessions Episode 3

This one took me to The Loft Tavern. Huge shoutout to Apryl for what she’s doing promoting live music, business and events around here with Texoma Observer.

The Loft Tavern quickly became one of my favorite places I’ve been to so far. Incredible staff, great atmosphere, killer music, and a locally sourced wagyu burger with jalapeño bacon jam that may have permanently altered my standards for burgers.

Kaleb Michael and Wes Wallace absolutely killed it all night, and more than once I caught myself forgetting I was supposed to be filming because I was just listening.

Support local music. Go discover new places. You never know what kind of night you’re about to stumble into.
