Michigan wine begins long before the first pour. 🍇

We recently had the opportunity to experience Dirt to Glass a gathering that brings growers, winemakers, researchers, educators, and industry leaders together to explore Michigan wine from the ground up. 🍷

From soil health and vineyard practices to collaboration, production, and the final glass, the experience reminded us that every bottle carries a much larger story. It represents the land, the growing season, the knowledge of the people caring for the vines, and the decisions made along the way.

This is why agritourism matters! When we step into the vineyard and meet the people behind what we consume, wine becomes more than something we taste it becomes a connection to place and community.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who welcomed us, shared their knowledge, and made these conversations possible.

About infrastructure.
About what happens when local food systems disappear.
Danu Hof is building toward a solution—
bringing poultry processing back to Northern Michigan.
Because farmers shouldn’t have to drive across the state, just to feed their communities.
If we want local food to survive,
we have to support the farms fighting for it.
We spent time on the farm listening, learning, and documenting the realities behind local food in Northern Michigan. ✋🏼
