An honor to experience the Mass of Episcopal Ordination and Installation of Most Reverend James A Misko as the eighth Bishop of Tucson at St. Augustine Cathedral Friday, February 20, 2026. Joining the celebration are His Eminence Christophe Cardinal Pierre, His Excellency Most Reverend John Webster Archdiocese of Santa Fe, Archbishop Edward Weisenberger and Bishop Gerald Kicanis and over two-hundred bishops, priests and religious leaders in a packed cathedral of faithful. For 27 years, Jesse and Carol Lugo have been giving the gift of joy to Tucson children at Christmastime. Today marked the 17th year of the Bike-In-A-Box event at the Elks Lodge, where 500 children received a brand-new bicycle and a safety helmet—just in time for the holidays.

Coaches for Charity in partnership with GAP Ministries executive chef John Hohn delivered 150 Thanksgiving boxes to six area schools. Special thanks to Chris Edwards and his team for providing the transportation from Tucson Appliance company, and volunteers Val Romero, Jesse Lugo, Sixto Molina, and Univeristy of Arizona students Robert Wahl,, Ethan Caldwell and Andrew Cardenas. Schools included, Utterback, Apollo, Mission View, Ochoa, St. John’s, and Santa Cruz elementary. Thanks to listeners of The Morning Voice and all of the community partners who donated $45 per box to assist us in this important activity. Thank you all. Happy Thanksgiving.

Next Wednesday, volunteers representing The Morning Voice and Coaches for Charity will be delivering 150 Thanksgiving Food boxes to needy families to six schools in South Tucson…Utterback, Apollo, Ochoa, Misdion Viee, St. John’s and Santa Cruz.
