From a Dream to a Growing Legacy
Johnnie Ball Legacy Impact Org.
What started with a simple desire to help children dream bigger has continued to grow into something truly impactful.

Year One: After our first Black Excellence Ball, our Community Give Back served 150 children. We fed them, provided backpacks and school supplies, and created learning stations where they could be encouraged and inspired. Three children also received $200 gift cards for writing essays about what they wanted to be when they grew up. It wasn’t just about the gift—it was about encouraging them to dream and see possibilities for their future.

Year Two: We grew from 150 to 250 children, again providing meals, backpacks, school supplies, and educational learning stations. We awarded our first $500 scholarship, along with two $200 essay gift cards to children who shared their dreams for the future.

Year Three: Our impact grew again as we served 350 children with food, backpacks, school supplies, and learning stations. We were also blessed to award three $500 scholarships, continuing our commitment to education and opportunity.

And every year, we make it a point to honor an educator with a dozen roses and a $50 gift card as a small way of saying, “We see you. We appreciate you. Thank you for pouring into our children.”

From 150 children to 250 to 350. From encouraging dreams with $200 gift cards to awarding multiple $500 scholarships. Every year, the vision gets bigger because the purpose has always been bigger than the Ball.

Black Excellence is not just an event—it is what happens after the event.

We celebrate excellence in the room, and then we take that excellence back into our community.
