Portrait Sessions are free this Friday from 3:00-5:00 in studio. You can simply show up… 104 South 2nd, Baldwyn, MS 38824. You’ll pick from one of my custom-made backdrops. They are one of a kind (just like you!). Session is free. You only pay for the portrait if you love it. If Friday doesn’t work, DM me and we will schedule something.

Vanelli's has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. It was where I spent my birthdays as a kid, my first job, countless gigs on stage, my Purdie days editing huddled editing on Final Cut Pro in the office attached to the kitchen... It remains a staple in my life. It's one of those restaurants that more than a restaurant. It's got legacy and legacy matters.

I often tell people My Tupelo is kinda the perfect place… you have everything you need (cool places to eat, sports, music, etc.) and you don’t, in general, have the things you don’t want (traffic, high crime rate, inflated prices, etc). One of the best things is having people local and, in this case, very much not local coming together to bring us very cool things. And I’m very excited about Hachi Machi. Kris and Adam have already added to Tupelo’s culture in significant ways. And they’re about to do it again. It’s opening soon. So, get ready Tupelo.

Doing new things is tough… the photo on the left is my son just before we left for his first day of school. The second one is just after picking him up…. He’s been nervous all Summer about his new school and all the feelings came out this morning when it was time for the “back to school photo.” But he’s a brave boy. He’s also a sensitive boy who feels a lot. Not only is there nothing wrong with that, there’s everything right with that. It’s good to feel deeply. We downplay that too much in our culture… it’s also good to sometimes capture these moments. Too many photographs and portraits are over-edited products of proper poses and fake smiles. We capture moments so we can see and remember who you are. And none of us are smiling all the time, least of all with a fake manufactured smiles that tells the world the wrong story about ourselves. We are human. We are made in the image of God. We feel all the things and it is good to not be ashamed to share that we do so…. Also, the rest of the story… he had a great first day of school 😊
