Before you finalize content calendars for the rest of the year, remember: more posts do not automatically create more momentum.

When content strategy gets reduced to "filling slots," you may end up with high output and low impact.

So, before the end-of-year rush, take a moment to evaluate your content calendar against three primary roles. Explore content that:

1️⃣ builds awareness and introduces your perspective to new audiences;

2️⃣ breaks down complex ideas and clearly explains the value you bring; and

3️⃣ highlights proof points, case studies, and expertise to build lasting trust.

Strong content requires a deliberate mix of all three, with a steady stream of educational content at its core. That is why earned media is so critical to your strategy. It highlights your professional expertise, builds awareness around industry issues, and develops the kind of lasting trust that standard self-promotion simply can't buy.

What’s better than one Promova birthday in a week? Two! 🎊

This weekend, we're wishing a big happy birthday to our mighty founder, Ioana Good, an entrepreneur whose energy, encouragement, and clarity inspire everyone around her to aim higher and put their best foot forward.

Ioana is deeply committed to helping clients grow through meaningful communication and visibility, supported by comprehensive media strategies, compelling thought leadership, and crisis response.

She is an active speaker and writer, often publishing for Law.com and the New York Law Journal . She is also the co-founder of Find A Rainmaker, the behavioral assessment tool built to help organizations identify the natural strengths that drive stronger teams and sustainable growth.

This year brings even more cause for celebration: Ioana is preparing to publish her first entrepreneurship book with PLI Press, offering leaders practical guidance for scaling their business in a demanding, fast-moving world. She’ll also be taking the stage at an international legal convention soon—so stay tuned.

Cheers to another year of bold ideas and meaningful impact! We are so lucky to have you.

Not every company update needs a press release, and that’s okay.

The news moves fast. A new hire, internal milestone, expanded service, or company announcement may be important to your team, but that does not always mean it will be newsworthy to the media.

The key is knowing how to shape the story.

Instead of diving headfirst into “How do we announce this?” ask:

• Why does this matter now?
• Who needs to know?
• What larger trend, challenge, or opportunity does this connect to?
• Is this best suited for earned media, owned content, email, social media, or direct client communication?

Sometimes the strongest strategy is creating a thoughtful LinkedIn post, client alert, blog article, newsletter feature, or broader thought leadership opportunity.

Good PR isn't about forcing every update into the media. It’s about knowing where the story belongs and how to make it matter.

Stumped on what to author? One of the best ways to create stronger thought leadership is to stay curious.

Pay attention to industry trends, client needs, and emerging conversations. Follow trade publications, monitor regulatory developments, and gather insights from conferences and events. Don't forget to talk with your PR and Marketing Teams to better understand what they are seeing and the latest news trends.

Great content doesn’t always require a brand-new idea. Often, it’s about offering a timely perspective on a topic everyone is already trying to understand.

A crisis will put your brand, leadership, values, and team to the test.

When pressure is high, people look for clarity wherever they can find it. That's why crisis communications should never begin in the middle of the crisis. The preparation should happen long before one occurs.

Companies can prepare by:

• Identifying who needs to be involved when decisions are made
• Clarifying approval processes before time becomes limited
• Developing holding statements for likely scenarios
• Training spokespeople
• Monitoring internal and external communication channels

The strongest crisis responses are clear, timely, honest, and aligned with an organization’s values.

Does email marketing still work? Absolutely.

Email has been around for decades, and it remains one of the most effective ways to drive engagement and sales. The difference comes down to how you use it.

Thoughtful campaign strategy, personalized messaging, and consistent performance tracking are what set strong programs apart.

When done well, email remains one of the most direct ways to build relationships, stay top of mind, and drive action.

Our team helps clients design, write, and execute campaigns that support those goals. Learn more at getpromova.com.

When it comes to media pitching, shorter is usually stronger, but it's not just about length.

Editors and reporters often see 50+ pitches a day. The ones that get a reply aren't retreading a story that's already been told. They're offering something adjacent to it: an angle, data point, or expert take nobody's flagged yet.

Say a topic is already heavily covered in the news. The idea that lands isn't another explanation of why it matters. It's the detail no one's cited yet, or the expert whose take is genuinely different.

The right PR strategy sparks interest and opens the door. Reach out to see how we can help: getpromova.com.

Not every great media mention lives on the open internet.

Sometimes, the strongest coverage appears in a trade publication, business journal, or trusted outlet your clients and prospects already read.

That still matters.

A paywall doesn’t erase credibility. It just means you need to be more intentional:

- Share the original link
- Support the publication
- Pull out the key message
- Add your own context
- Share the win across social, newsletters, sales, and internal updates

The number of clicks doesn’t measure good PR. It’s formulated through trust, authority, and being seen by the right people.
