Your reputation in the media takes time to build, but only one moment to damage if the message isn’t right.

Here are a few things that are harder to “walk back” than people think:

𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐞 – Even when the facts are right, tone can become the headline. Snark, sarcasm, and defensiveness travel fast and can derail your message.

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 – Words like “guaranteed, always, never, and definitely” can create expectations you didn’t mean to set. Avoid confirming anything you can’t fully stand behind.

𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 – Calling out a person, client, or partner (even indirectly) creates a narrative you may not be able to control.

We’re excited to welcome Liz to Promova, LLC ! Liz is a Project Manager and operations leader with over 10 years of experience keeping teams aligned and projects moving across hospitality, nonprofit, and higher education. She also brings a background in public relations, adding a strong communications lens and a structured approach to managing complex programs and cross-functional work.

Liz will support the team by improving project workflows, contributing to client work, and making our day-to-day operations more seamless.

Outside of work, she’s an animal lover who volunteers at a local shelter, practices yoga, and is usually in the middle of a good fantasy novel.

We took time to reflect on how we work today and identified ways to streamline our internal processes to deliver a more seamless experience for our clients.

We capped it off with a walking tour of NOLA’s historic architecture, which was a perfect reminder: great builds always start with a strong foundation.

Consumers engage with brands that feel authentic and emotionally connected. The strongest brands know community connection is part of growth.

When brands show up consistently in the communities they serve, trust tends to follow. Not as a big statement, but through real actions, relationships, and presence over time.

Research helps explain why this matters. HBR reports that 64% of consumers buy or avoid brands based on societal beliefs (Harvard Business Review, 2025). Community connection is often where those beliefs become visible.

Now that we’ve made it through winter’s hurdles, spring is the perfect time to clear out what’s no longer serving your brand.

If your messaging feels cluttered, inconsistent, or unclear, your audience will feel it too. Brands are continually evolving, with many creating new service lines, taking on new clients, and expanding their offerings.
