Our buddy Dale, an outstanding welder and fabricator in our area - known-to and loved by all - offered up his Gl@ck for a DeWalt-themed transformation!

(We failed to snap a 'before', but it was an FDE tan, with the factory stipple almost completely worn down.)

'Do whatever you want to it!', Dale told us.

Cool!

Artistic license is great fun, of course, so we thought we'd try a handful of different engraving elements for the frame and slide. Our own mega-stash of DeWalt tools provided plenty of guidance on the design of all these little doo-dads, ha! Add a touch of diamond plate as the new stipple (and a custom hat with Dale's 'Dixie Fix' business name on it), and voila'!

Dale, thanks for entrusting this to us! Here's to many more as time goes along!

We're all familiar with the beautiful 'checking' and shapes that come factory-made on the wood stocks and forearms/fore-ends of several hunting r!fle manufacturers.

Steve had a couple of these that he hadn't turned his mind to in a while, and he asked if we could spiff 'em up with some engravings, using his company logo as the main attraction, and then giving us free rein to take it from there.

Life contains some immutable truths.

Among them:

1. Everybody loves black;
2. Everybody loves skulls;
3. Everybody loves seeing stuff that's 'different';
and, yessir ...
4. Everybody loves a 1911! 😉

Owning a 1911 is not quite as quintessentially Americana as baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet (if you're old enough to remember TV commercials from the '70s!), being 'Made in Turkey' and all, but it's close, and we sure appreciate 'em here.

In addition to all the outsized amount of space this had for engravings and Cerakote, we thought the aftermarket grips look like they could be the rib cages of the characters on the slide!

The last photo is how this Tisas comes from the factory.

This is the first of what we expect will be quite a run!

Viking Mike really outdid himself with his all-the-little-details fanaticism for this special project. We thought it was time to start adding branding and exclusivity, too, to our grips, and the way the 'slashed' green rips through the engraved logo is one of our favorite elements.
