By now you know that you must show your customers how you differ from your competitors. They need to know what separates you from the crowd. Those little nuggets of excitement that got you going in the first place. Unfortunately, you may be too close to your own business to see the forest for the trees, the fries for the feast, and the bang for the buck! The more that you work within your business the more you start to assume everyone knows everything about your offering. Oops! It’s a big mistake that many make, and sometimes we can’t appreciate!

Start by going back to your core reasons for doing what you do so well. Ask yourself, “What’s Your BACON?” What’s the reason we started this enterprise? What puts the giddy in my “Giddy Up and Go?” Take time to define your mission, vision, and passion. Break it all down into elaborate detail.

Now get with someone on your team and have them dedicate some of their time to converting your love into the language of your customers. Concentrate on Values, Objections, and Shareability. Soon you will have an abundance of ways to promote and talk about your establishment and what makes it one of a kind.

I would love to help you get started and get more people ringing your phone and knocking on your door. Let’s uncover how you , your message, and the task so that you can get back to doing what you do best!

It would be silly to jump in front of a large boulder rolling down a hill. Chances are you’d be run over and make little to no change in its direction. But if you ran alongside it, gently pushing and nudging it, you might alter its course. You might vary its destination.

The same is with people. When they are set in their ways it is impossible to get them to change. You can make suggestions. You can push, pull, or nudge, but ultimately it is up to them to change their mind and follow your opinion, invitation, suggestions, or advice.

Knowing how difficult it is to sway another, it is important that we lead them in the right direction. We must live up to our hype. We must follow through with our promises. We must be true to our word. If we are selling a product or service, it does no good to exaggerate feature and benefits to a point that you can never live up to. If you deliver deceit, then expect to be judged. Your prospects and customers have the right to call you out, even if you think that they are building mountains out of molehills.

Worse than that, they will hold a grudge and share their unsatisfactory service all around like rings from pebbles tossed in ponds. This will put you between a rock and a hard place; trying to keep the customers that you have and calm the ones that feel deceived.

The only way back is to nudge those people one more time. And hopefully they will have a better experience, the second time around.

Let’s discuss your so that you are faced with a favorable response when they . And let’s never give them a reason to hold a .

No matter how much you prepare and care, you will always end up with angry and disgruntled employees and customers. If you are lucky, they will share that anger with you and give you the opportunity to learn and grow. Unfortunately, they usually prefer to share their frustration with others behind your back. When that happens, business suffers and sometimes you may never understand why.

What are you doing to encourage employee and customer feedback? Is your initial response empathy or anger when you do hear bad news or read the 1-star reviews?

At first, you should feel distressed, sorry, and sad when you hear negative comments. Don’t make excuses or point fingers. Remember that these people are your eyes and ears. They are only reporting on their interpretation of your offering. Encourage that feedback and show a willingness to listen, empathize, and understand.

Inspiring this kind of open dialogue will create stronger connections and build loyalty. This will bring on opportunities to evolve and create engaging networks. They’ll be glad you gave them a chance to share and vent and you’ll be glad that they did.

Let’s create a plan for you to encourage and respond to the , the , and the . Let’s create happier employees and customers.

The sale shouldn’t end when you cash the check. What are you doing to keep those customers coming back and recommending you to their friends? Booking the first sale should be the first step in a long-lasting relationship.

Sometimes we offer our best deals to prospects to get them to come in and sign the bottom line. We ignore and alienate our current customers, giving them permission to run to our competition. It’s usually easier, quicker, and more cost-effective to re-sell those who have already been sold. And it takes just a little respect and some empathy to keep them happy and coming back for more.

Not only are you able to close a quick sale by communicating with your current customers, but you can also get clues on closing new customers as well.

Set up a plan on what to do AFTER you book a sale. Take a close look at what worked and what didn’t. Talk to them and find out why they buy from you, why they passed on your competition, and what it will take to keep them. People love giving this information. It makes them feel like part of the team. Be sure to reward them for their help. Treat them better than you treat your prospects. And use this information to help you fine-tune your message and hook your next loyal customers.

Let’s uncover your , , and together.

Throughout your life, within your teams, at work, or at play you are always in one of these three states. Pay close attention to how you are acting and reacting. What you are doing, why you are doing it, and what should or could you be doing instead.

Your Passion is the intersection of what you are good at, how you help others, and how you feel good about doing it. You might be a great chef who truly enjoys serving amazing food to your clients. You might be an exceptional Coach who thrives on the energy of teaching others to succeed. Whatever it is that you do, strive to find that passion.

Your Mission in life is to keep growing, learning, adapting, and evolving into the person, the team, or company you were meant to be. At the end of every day, ask yourself, how have I become better than the person I was yesterday?

Your Intermission are the breaks and distractions that pop up from time to time. The problematic pauses in your path that interrupt your progress. Yes, yes, yes, sometimes that power nap or television binge is the rest you need to get reenergized. Those moments of mindless bliss can be part of your mission or passion, but don’t let the lazy, lackadaisical lounging take over your life.

At any given time, ask yourself, “Am I doing what brings me joy, am I doing what must be done to get there, or am I just wasting time?” Only you can answer that question honestly.

Let’s uncover your and and let’s find way to identify and limit your .
