Thanks to the American Express Small Business Saturday Neighborhood Champion program, several local businesses received swag and support to help them celebrate the week leading up to Small Business Saturday. I visited each of them to hear their plans and see how they are preparing for one of the most important shopping weekends of the year.
Birdies Books & Beans at 1201 Main Street in Benton will celebrate their grand opening at 9 AM on Small Business Saturday. After extensive renovation work to bring their historic building back to life, they are ready to welcome the public for the first time. Visitors can expect a warm, inviting space with books, coffee, and thoughtful gift ideas.
The House of Ross Coffee Bar and Cigar Lounge at 227 North 13th Street in Paducah is extending their hours for the holiday weekend. They will be open on Thanksgiving from 6 PM to 10 PM and on both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday from 7 AM to 10 PM. They will feature seasonal drinks and cozy grab and go favorites. This is a great stop for anyone wanting to support a local coffee shop with a warm, creative atmosphere.
The Burger Bar at 265 Kentucky Avenue in Kevil is running a special collaboration with Game Galaxy LLC through Small Business Saturday. They are featuring the Galaxy Burger, a one third pound burger topped with pepper jack cheese, sweet and smoky bacon jam, and their signature purple Galaxy Sauce made with purple sweet potato. Every order earns a ticket for Game Galaxy’s Nintendo Switch 2 drawing. One ticket per order per day while supplies last.
Blondie's Western Wear & Tack at 9380 Ogden Landing Road in West Paducah is offering major Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales. Saddles, straw hats, and ball caps are 40% off. Tack, apparel, footwear, buckles, luggage, and purses all feature strong discounts, and Montana Silversmith items are 1/2 off. Clearance items receive an extra 10% off. Holiday hours are Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Railside Coffee Co. will be serving holiday crowds at two major events this week. They will be set up at the Turkey Trot 5K and 10K in downtown Paducah from 6:30 AM to 9 AM on Thanksgiving morning. They will also be set up at Jordan’s Crossing near Kentucky Oaks Mall from 8 AM to 1 PM on Black Friday. Their mobile trailer will offer fresh, handcrafted drinks as they connect with the community during two of the busiest days of the season.
Kentucky Kickz at 4793 Village Square Drive, Suite B, in Paducah will be open from Noon to 7 PM on Small Business Saturday. The shop has been completely restocked with new and lightly worn, hard to find sneakers. They have also expanded into apparel with vintage and luxury streetwear pieces. It is a great stop for shoppers looking for unique holiday gifts.
The Yellow Daffodil Thrift Shop at 1569 Husband Road in Paducah will be celebrating Small Business Saturday with 20% off all items (Saturday only) store wide! They will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM. They will have new inventory rolling out weekly, with curated clothing, decor, and unique finds that make holiday shopping budget friendly. Their team has put together a thoughtful selection for shoppers looking for one of a kind items.
