This weeks is the one and only Josephine Esther Mentzer (better known as Estée Lauder)!

In 1998, Lauder was the only female on Time magazine's list of 20 most influential business geniuses of the 20th century. She began her journey selling her uncles skincare creams. She then helped re-develop and repackage a "core set" of items, which she began marketing to women in beauty shops. Today, the Estee Lauder name is known throughout the world and is one of the companies responsible for innovating marketing strategies for beauty lines everywhere.

We mentioned last post that consumers are looking for more natural ways to view and interact with products and services... a HUGE part of the conversion and buying process is UGC. Examples include: reviews, photos, videos, social posts, etc. (think review videos, a selfie with the product, a video showing the product in a natural environment, etc.)

These things come from people who would be the ideal customers and are SUPER influential during the buying process. Consumers crave the authenticity of these ideas and opinions, and that authenticity is absolutely priceless for your credibility with your audience!

Why make your ads more organic? What does that even mean?

Organic ads are ads that don't seem like ads- like a smokescreen. When you make ads blend into the space you're posting, the ad is more likely to appear natural to the viewer, versus posting something more traditional. A perfect example of this is doing a GRWM type ad for a skincare product! You're showcases a product, but in a very natural way. Consumers are becoming more savvy... they don't want to be sold TO directly, they want a more authentic ad experience.

She succeeded in transforming the businesses into giant corporations, as well as winning back ownership after lengthy battles with family members.

Today's Fun Fact Friday spotlight goes to Ms. Helen Lansdowne Resor.

Resor was the first female copywriter, creating an ad for Woodbury, in 1917! She was a pioneer for advertising and is known as the first women to design and implement a national campaign!

Resor died in 1964, but will always be remember for the way she paved the path for women today through innovation and design implementation!
