Wearing green for St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ and to show my 💚 for 🎩.

Such a fun evening at the PRSA Hampton Roads happy hour!

So good to reconnect with friends in the PR world and meet some new folks who understand deadlines, client curveballs and the phrase, “I could just do that in Canva.”

We shared a few “PR confessions” about what we love and what makes us sigh deeply. Mine? When I was a reporter, I used to think PR people weren’t that smart and that their jobs couldn’t be that complicated. They just existed to answer reporters’ questions, right?

Then I crossed over to the “other side” and realized just how much strategy, diplomacy, writing, counseling, crisis management and stamina this profession requires. Consider me humbled.

Today’s Legacy Society gathering at the Chrysler Museum’s Perry Glass Studio reminded me why I’m proud to be part of this incredible community.

We watched two amazing women transform molten glass into a beautiful bowl. The process takes trust, skill, patience and vision. That mirrors how the Foundation works to support causes that matter across our region.

As a writer and PR professional, I’ve had the privilege to work with the Foundation and some of the nonprofits it supports. I’ve seen their impact firsthand. And as a woman without children, joining the Legacy Society gives me peace of mind, knowing my planned gift will be used thoughtfully and for good long after I’m gone.

It also was a joy to spend time with friends and inspiring women like Sally Hartman and Allison Bough. Their wisdom and kindness always lift me up.
