Meta wants you to use Advantage+. Google's pushing Performance Max. ChatGPT is writing everyone's captions. And around every corner we're all being told the same thing: hand it over. Trust the automation.

But nobody's asking "Should we?"

These platforms have goals. Your business has goals. And those two things aren't always the same.

The truth is, I get really invested.... maybe too invested, honestly.

But that's just how I'm built.

I don't take on clients I'm not genuinely excited about. I don't work with people whose businesses I don't care about. And I can't show up halfway.

So when we work together, you get all of me. The research. The honesty. The obsession with your marketing efforts.

That's also why I only work with 4-5 one-on-one clients at a time. Because this level of investment doesn't scale to 15 clients. It just doesn't.

We basically have the same name, we both live in Oregon, and we both work in marketing. But our days? They look completely different.

Pretty images are great.
But if your ads aren't converting, I doubt the image is the problem.

Here's what I see when I audit ad campaigns:
The creative is fine. The targeting is fine.
The problem? What you're asking people to do.
You're running cold traffic to a high-ticket offer.
That's the mistake.

Someone just discovered you exist. They don't know you. They don't trust you yet.
And you're asking them to spend $3,000.
It's too much too soon.

Cold traffic needs a low-risk entry point.
Something that gets them into your world without the risk.
A lead magnet. A low-cost offer. Something that makes saying yes easy.

Then you nurture.
Build trust. Prove you're the right fit.
That's when they buy the big thing.

If your ads aren't converting, stop tweaking the images.
Look at what you're asking people to do—and whether it makes sense for someone who just found you.

Your ad dashboard is full of numbers. But most business owners are watching the wrong ones...

They're celebrating reach when reach doesn't convert. They're panicking over impressions when impressions don't pay the bills.

Here's what I actually look at when I'm managing a client's account: Cost per result. CTR. Frequency.

That's it.

These are the numbers that tell me if an ad is working or if something needs to change.

You've been posting consistently for months.
Maybe longer.
You're showing up. Creating content. Providing value.
And your growth feels painfully slow.

Or maybe you're on the other side, you've spent money on ads, and you're not seeing the return you expected.

Either way, something's missing.
And here's what I think it is:
The strategies that worked 10 years ago don't work anymore.
Organic reach has changed. Competition is heavier. The algorithm isn't doing you any favors.

But that doesn't mean organic doesn't work. And it doesn't mean you should just throw money at ads and hope for the best.
It means you need to understand what each one actually does and when your business is ready for both.
