🚨 SECURITY ALERT: That CAPTCHA May Not Be a CAPTCHA
We’ve all seen the familiar “I’m not a robot” verification. But cybercriminals are now creating convincing fake CAPTCHA pages designed to trick you into infecting your own computer.
The biggest red flag? A real CAPTCHA will NEVER ask you to open Windows Run, PowerShell, Terminal, or another system tool and paste or execute a command.
Fake CAPTCHA attacks may tell you that verification “failed,” then instruct you to press Windows + R, paste something using Ctrl + V, and press Enter. What looks like a verification process can actually execute malicious code that installs malware, steals credentials, or gives an attacker access to your device.
🛑 If a CAPTCHA asks you to run a command: .
Do not follow the instructions. Close the page and report it to your IT provider. If you already ran the command, disconnect the device from the network and contact IT immediately.
At Technology, cybersecurity isn't just about installing antivirus. It's about helping people recognize an attack before they click, paste, or execute it.

Think before you click. And never run a command just because a website tells you to.
