Hey there! Let’s chat about branding – that tricky beast that seems so simple until you actually dive into it. When I kicked off Bridges Media back in 2019, I thought, “Cool, my last name has a built-in mission statement! We’re all about connecting businesses with their peeps. Easy peasy, right?” Oh, how naive I was.

Logo Limbo

My branding journey? A wild ride. Started with a bridge in my logo because, well, Bridges, duh! Then I thought, “Let’s jazz it up for my photography biz,” and boom, flowers everywhere. Colors? Went from a goth phase of purple and black to feeling pretty in pink and sage green. But guess what? Wasn’t feeling the love.

And now? I’ve landed on something modern and kinda abstract, which honestly, sometimes makes me go, “Huh?” It’s been a mix-and-match adventure, trying to figure out who we are visually.

What’s in a Logo?

Here’s the kicker – I’ve realized that maybe, just maybe, I’ve been obsessing over the wrong thing. Branding isn’t just about slapping a cool logo on everything and calling it a day. It’s about what you stand for, the vibe you give off, and how you make people feel.

I’ve juggled so many looks trying to nail down our identity, but here’s the real talk: I don’t think I’ll ever stop tweaking it. Why? Because we’re always growing, learning new tricks, and evolving. And that’s okay!

Keeping It Real

Reflecting on my journey, especially my early photography days, I’m giving myself a pat on the back. We’ve all got to start somewhere, right? Every day’s a school day in the world of marketing and design, and I’m here for it, textbooks and all (okay, more like webinars and podcasts, but you get the idea).

Branding, Schmanding

So, what’s the moral of the story? Bridges Media isn’t just a logo or a color scheme. It’s me, Katharine, your go-to gal for bridging the gap between dreams and reality. Forget about falling in love with a logo. I want you to remember the laughs we share, the dreams we chase, and the coffee we sip together.

Let’s make branding personal. Forget the formalities and the “should-dos.” Let’s chat about your hopes, scribble ideas on napkins, and build something awesome together.

Here’s to the messy, beautiful journey of branding and to all the adventures that lie ahead. Can’t wait to see where this rollercoaster takes us next!

Cheers to making magic happen,
Katharine

Hey everyone, Katharine Bridges here from Bridges Media, coming out from behind the computer to step in front of the camera (just this once!). 📸 I’ve always believed in letting our work speak for itself, focusing on the services we offer rather than the face behind them. But as our journey evolves, and we dive deeper into consulting and sharing insights, I thought it’s time you see who’s behind all these words.

I’ve never been one for the spotlight, preferring the beautiful chaos behind the scenes to the polished front. So, when you see me out and about, don’t be surprised if it’s a messy bun and a makeup-free day - that’s just me being real. But for this special occasion, thanks to the incredible MirandaLeaPhotography, I decided to spruce up a bit and share a glimpse of who I am - no filters, no fake smiles, just Katharine.

This is me embracing the beautiful, imperfect journey of life and business, hoping to connect a little more personally with each of you. Here’s to being authentic, giving advice, and maybe a little bit of laughter along the way. Cheers to new beginnings and stepping out of our comfort zones, together!

🎥 New Video Alert: Tailoring Your Pricing to Your Client’s World 🎥

Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to share with you a fresh take on a topic close to our hearts: understanding our demographic and how we charge our clients. 🌟

In today’s video blog, I dive deep into the art of setting prices that not only reflect the value of our services but also resonate with the clients we aim to serve. It’s a delicate balance, especially when catering to the unique needs of small family businesses in our community. 🏡💼

🌆 Big City Prices vs. Small Town Reality: Not all pricing models are created equal. Charging metropolitan rates in smaller cities can alienate the very people we’re trying to help. I’ll guide you through understanding your demographic, their behaviors, and crafting a pricing strategy that’s fair, competitive, and sustainable.

💡 Busting Marketing Myths: Tempted by those ads promising six-figure incomes with just a handful of clients? Let’s talk reality. In our video, I debunk some of the myths about jumping into marketing and set realistic expectations, especially for those of us operating in smaller towns.

📈 Building Bridges, Not Barriers: Our goal is to connect, empower, and grow together with our clients. This video is all about forging stronger relationships through empathy, understanding, and strategic pricing.

👀 Watch Now: Whether you’re a seasoned marketer, a business owner navigating your pricing strategy, or someone curious about the dynamics of market demographics, this video is for you.

Join me as we explore how to align our pricing with our community’s heartbeat, ensuring our services are accessible, valuable, and impactful. 💖

**The True Essence of a Glow Up: Reflections Before the Beauty and Branding Soirée**

As we approach the Beauty and Branding Soirée at Nothing Fancy Boutique in DeRidder, Louisiana, this Friday, February 23, from 6 to 8 PM, I've been immersed in thoughts about what it means to truly "glow up." This phrase, often tossed around in jest or as part of social media trends, holds a deeper significance for many of us, especially as we navigate the complex journey of self-acceptance and personal growth.

**Glow Up: Beyond the Surface**

The concept of "glowing up" has evolved significantly over the years. It's no longer just about transitioning from the awkwardness of our yearbook photos to the polished versions of ourselves that technology allows us to present to the world. With filters and photo editing apps at our fingertips, anyone can craft an image that fits society's ever-changing beauty standards. But does that capture the essence of a true glow up?

**Redefining Beauty Standards**

Growing up, many of us were led to believe that certain brands or styles could elevate our social standing or make us more beautiful. I remember the longing for that Abercrombie & Fitch shirt, believing it would magically transform my school experience. Spoiler alert: it didn't. It was a hard lesson in understanding that beauty and acceptance couldn't be bought or worn. My journey, like many others, has been one of realizing that genuine beauty isn't dictated by the clothes we wear or the approval of our peers.

**The Real Glow Up**

For me, the real "glow up" has been an internal process. It's been about overcoming skepticism of others' intentions, nurtured by years of navigating social dynamics that often felt shallow or disingenuous. It's about learning to see my own value, independent of others' judgments or the fleeting standards of beauty our society clings to.

As I approach 40, my definition of glowing up is about recognizing that I am enough. It's a message I want to share with every woman attending the Beauty and Branding Soirée. This event isn't just about enhancing your outer appearance; it's a celebration of your intrinsic worth and beauty.

**The Beauty and Branding Soirée: A Celebration of You**

Join us at Nothing Fancy Boutique for an evening where we'll explore the beauty of now—of who you are in this moment. This soirée is designed not to change you but to highlight the incredible person you already are. Through makeup, fashion, and photography, we'll help you see yourself in a new light, not to transform you but to affirm that you're already beautiful, valuable, and important.

**An Invitation to Self-Discovery**

This event, while detached from the world of marketing, is deeply personal to me. If I can play a part in helping you realize that your story, your being, is enough, then I'll consider it a success. Whether we touch the lives of two people or two hundred, the message remains the same: You are wonderful just as you are.

The Beauty and Branding Soirée isn't just an event; it's a step on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Let's embrace our glow up era, not as a pursuit of societal beauty standards, but as a celebration of our inner strength, grace, and resilience.

I look forward to sharing this empowering experience with you.

Warmly,

Katharine

🌟 **Let’s shed the “Bless Your Heart” mentality and get gritty! ** 🌟

Our digital footprint these days seem to dictate our worth, it's crucial to pause and consider what really matters and what YOU define success as, not others in facebook comments.

📱 **Digital Metrics vs. Real Worth**: We've all been there, caught up in the whirlwind of social media, where the number of likes, comments, and followers can easily become a measure of our personal value. But let me share a slice of perspective from someone who has witnessed the evolution of phones from bricks to sophisticated gadgets, and social media from MySpace to Facebook: THESE NUMBERS DO NOT DEFINE US!

Sure, we all love getting likes and new followers on Facebook, but that’s not what shows our real value. Remember the days before all this (or am I just to old for yall), when we didn’t have smartphones glued to our hands? Our worth was never about those numbers.

I have less than 300 friends on my personal page and I absolutely am perfectly fine with it!

I assure you, these digital accolades are not the essence of our true worth.

NEWSFLASH: Businesses thrived without social media. People thrived without social media.

🔍 **Defining Success on a Personal Level**: Success, for me, has never been about the applause or the public recognition. It's about the quiet, fulfilling moments. It's my family's happiness and well-being. It's knowing that regardless of the season, we have comfort and stability. It's the ability to be there for every significant moment in my children's lives, cheering them on from the sidelines. This is my benchmark for success.

It's about the simple things, not how many clients I have or how much I brag online.

🏢 **Professional Fulfillment Beyond Client Count**: With two decades of experience under my belt, I've learned that success in business isn't about amassing clients or flaunting impressive sales figures. Yes, I've had the privilege of working with a loyal client for five years, but my definition of a successful business extends beyond that. It's about the impact we create, the lives we touch, and the legacy we build. And if Bridges Media remains a one-client agency till retirement, I'll wear that as a badge of honor because this businesses worth isn't measured by numbers alone.

Success is about making a meaningful difference, creating value, and ensuring my work aligns with my values and those of my clients.

🌐 **Community Engagement and Genuine Connections**: Success is also about how we interact with our community and the bonds we forge. It's choosing to shop at places where we're greeted with warmth, where our patronage feels valued. We all can sense when a person is genuine, fakeness fills our visual world consistently, it’s not hard to pinpoint. It's about how we treat each other, not just in business settings but in everyday life. Authenticity and kindness should be our guiding principles, regardless of the platform or setting.

When I choose where to shop or which business to support, it’s all about the welcome feeling I get. It’s about how people treat each other, not just about spending money.

And remember, how we act outside of business, like at church, shows a lot about us too.

💬 **Keeping it Real**: I’m Katharine Bridges - just a regular person born and raised in Ohio. I’ve lived all over the country, four children and a full life. I'm here to share what I know, help out where I can, and keep things honest. No need for fancy sign-ups or payments. Just hit me up, maybe we can grab coffee and talk.
Unlike the curated facades often portrayed on social media, I choose to be an open book. — a mom, a wife, a friend, and a professional who's not afraid to voice her opinions and stand by her values.

I don't claim to know everything, but what I do know, I'm eager to share without barriers.

🤝 **Let's Connect Over Real Conversations**: Forget the tired old PDFs, secret groups and the newsletters. If you're looking for straightforward, honest advice, or just want to share a coffee and a conversation, I'm here. Because at the end of the day, it's those real, human connections that fuel our souls and drive true success.

Let's remind ourselves that success is a deeply personal journey, not a public scoreboard.

Let's measure our worth by the lives we enrich and the peace we find in our homes. Our worth, and the success of our endeavors, are not dictated by social media metrics or the tax dollars we generate by the depth of our relationships.
