Hey there all. I hope everyone is doing well or as well as can be expected navigating through this hard time.

I wanted to share with everyone about an initiative I am starting as a result of what I am seeing happening at the local business level. One of the very positive things I am seeing is a renewed interest in supporting our local communities and small business interests. I am also seeing a lot of local small businesses who are trying to scramble to adapt to a new "virtual" business model. There are a lot of businesses who are not equipped to make the shift, they do not have the know-how to position themselves in front of their customers digitally. There are businesses who have normally flourished with foot traffic to their brick and mortar storefronts who are struggling to find footing because they really do not have a presence online, some do not even have a website or page.

I have always had an entrepreneurs heart and love seeing like minded people succeed in their business ventures. My desire is to utilize the tools and resources I have at my disposal to try and help these business owners establish themselves and even grow their businesses online. The problem a lot of small business owners face is that they reinvest much of their profits back into the business in the form of payroll, inventory, or other expenses. Marketing and developing their online presence just isn't an area they can afford to invest into. The problem is this is an area they can not afford to not invest, especially now with the shift in the way commerce is being done.

That being said Shafer Creative Agency is in the process of launching a brand new initiative meant to help small business grow and succeed during this time of economic uncertainty. We are calling it "A Local Motive"... We will be sharing more over the coming days but please as much as possible - especially now - Shop Small!
