I am able to be an effective social media manager for a client across the country whom I had never met. Do you know why?

Because this fabulous woman, Elease, has *such a clear understanding* about what her business does, how it works, and how she wants it to grow. It is HER vision and ability to communicate it that allows me to create a successful online marketing plan.

Sometimes, I work better with a change of scenery.

Where do you go to get a boost of creativity as you work on your business?

I haven’t flown in three years.

When I was going through security, I asked the TSA agent if I had to put my laptop in a separate bin. The agent sighed and replied “no, passengers haven’t had to do that since May.”

This gentleman is good at his job. He is familiar with the rules because it IS his job. I, however, have no need to keep up-to-date with TSA rules on the daily.

YOU know what your business does or offers, what sales you have, how you communicate with clients, etc. It’s your job! The trick is being able to convey that to people who are new to you.

When was the last time you revised your “elevator pitch” or reintroduced your services to your audience?

Hello, Shannon here! 👋 There has been a lot going on behind the scenes for The Bubbly Assistant, so things have been quiet on our social media.

Earlier this year, Liane parted ways from The Bubbly Assistant to offer her amazing services to the Roy family business, Archive Garage. I am so proud of all Liane has done and continues to do, both personally and professionally, and we remain great friends!

I continue to help clients with social media content planning and strategy, website building and maintenance, and other projects. I am excited to be more present here in a few weeks when my boys return to school. In the meantime, follow along this week as I travel to San Diego to meet two clients whom I have never met in person!

Alright tell me, which Baby Sitters Club character were you? I was a Kristy/Claudia combo.

Do you remember what chapter 2 was in every single novel? Chapter 2 was an introduction of each member of the club. It was written differently in every book, but the content was the same: Kristy is the president, Claudia is an artist and has a phone in her room, Stacey has type 1 diabetes… you remember.

If you were familiar with the Club, you could skim or skip this chapter. If you were new to the series, this chapter was a great run-down of essential info.

What can we learn from this?

As a business owner, especially on social media, you will always have loyal clients who have been with you since the beginning, and brand-new clients who may or may not have worked with you yet. Is your content appealing and understandable to both groups of clientele? For example, if you have special names for products or packages, do you define those regularly or keep it exclusive? Are you always ready with an “elevator pitch” when people ask “what do you offer?”

How do you deal with critics?

Everyone has an opinion, but not everyone’s opinion has to carry weight. Give yourself permission today to let go of the less-than-5 star reviews you’ve received from people you were never going to make happy anyway.

When I started playing Wordle a few weeks ago, I was guessing every word in 3 or 4 tries.

Then I clicked on an article on my Google home page: “The Best Wordle Starting Word, According to Experts” and enacted that strategy - and I haven’t guessed the daily word in 3 tries since.

If what you’re doing is working for you, if you’re seeing the results you want, if your processes align with your mission and values… why would you chase something better because an expert on the internet said to?

**SOCIAL** media. How do you use social media to be… social?

Especially if you use a post scheduler, it’s easy to set your content to post and then not open your apps for days or weeks. But then what’s the point?

Here are some tips for you today!
🥂 Ask for recommendations. (Pictured here: I asked my Facebook friends which coffee shops in WNY had eggnog lattes in December, which led me to an amazing solo coffee date to Public Espresso + Coffee!)
🥂 Shout out your favorite new product or service, especially if it’s local.
🥂 Take time to meaningfully reply to comments on your posts.

How will you be social on social media today?

You’ve decided what to post about, you’ve opened Canva and chosen a template, and you’ve added your text. Time to post!

…oops. You realize an hour or two later that your graphic has a spelling error. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It happens to all of us! But what do we do to prevent it from happening next time?

Type your text somewhere other than Canva (Word, your email, your notes app, a text message), check for red squiggly lines, and correct any errors. Then copy and paste into your Canva text box!

Will this take an extra minute or two? Yes. But will it elevate your professionalism? ABSOLUTELY. And in our opinion, that’s worth a few extra minutes. 😉
