A friend of mine saw something in me and recommended I read “Good Morning, Holy Spirit” by Benny Hinn. I had not been able to finish a book for many years but I read that book in 3 days; literally plowed through it like it was chaff.

It started a fire in me that will never be quenched but is burning like a tempest. How is it that the American Church has mostly missed the Holy Spirit’s boat and been floundering in it’s wake?

Acts 1:8 clearly states that we will receive power from the Holy Spirit to do even greater things than Jesus did. But what have they taught us? To be still and know that He is God. There is no being still in the Great Commission. We are to fill the earth with Disciples and that requires the power of the Holy Spirit, not sitting around waiting for Jesus to come back.

If we want Jesus to come back, we have to go and acquire territory; we have to seek the lost and plunder hell by winning souls for the kingdom. Jesus won’t come back for a paltry billion. He wants as many souls as He can get so He has given us the Holy Spirit to see to it that we GET IT DONE!

Calling all Warriors!

Put on your armor; take up your shield of faith and your sword of the Spirit; it’s time to reap the harvest for The fields are ripe and full of fruit. We won’t stop until He comes.

Since the beginning of Christianity, The Way, the following of Christ, there has always been the possibility of doubt in the resurrection. I’ve heard people say that the stone was rolled away by the disciples and His body hidden in order to create the appearance of His rising. Others think that He never actually died at that time but was in more like a coma and was revived and left the scene.

It seems to be so difficult for some people to accept the idea that the Creator of the Universe can do whatever He chooses whenever He wants, regardless of how unnatural it might seem to us. But for those that think it was a hoax, let’s consider some thoughts.

All of the disciples, with the exception of Judas, were martyred is some pretty unpleasant ways.

Now, I can see one, maybe two, could have decided to be heroes to the end; believing in the cause to the point of death, but not all of them. There is no way all of them died for a hoax.

They had to have believed, without question, in what they had experienced and that it was the Truth.

All of the disciples abandoned Jesus when He was taken into custody. They didn’t actually believe in the idea that Jesus would have to die on purpose in order to Rise. They were convinced that Jesus had come to free them from the Roman occupation even though Jesus had warned them many times of His impending doom. They never actually accepted it until they saw Him risen. They didn’t think far enough ahead to even create a hoax, much less carry it out.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your view, most of the world’s population was not there so we have to rely on faith. For those that were there, however, once the risen Christ appeared, all doubts were laid aside.

Christ was and is and shall be. May all who doubt take comfort in knowing that the disciples experienced Him in life, death and His rising. For me, tgats more than enough.

All these years, since I first accepted Christ in 2000, I’ve been seeking God, trying to get more of Him into my life. It took until last year to truly understand that obedience is the key that opens the door to all of the goodness that God can give.

For me, obedience means to always doing whatever the Holy Spirit suggests. I get suggestions all the time that usually come in the form of a feeling/unspoken words that is more like a “knowing” of the intent of The Holy Spirit. Whenever I ignore those suggestions, I get a very definitive response from the Holy Spirit that is similar to sadness but ever so gently as if to say “that’s a bad idea but whatever”.

The reality for me is that I’ve just disappointed The Creator of the Universe; what a bad idea! With a thought, He moves worlds around and yet, He bothers to care about a little spec of a creature like me. The very least I can do is what He asks me so gently and nicely to do. Imagine reaching a place where always doing what God says is the norm! It can’t be THAT hard; more like remembering, right?

Let’s ponder that one.

I heard a woman ask a question that sent me on a journey to find the true answer. The question: I don’t get the whole thing about why Jesus had to be sacrificed? More of a statement, but the woman had been in church her whole life and couldn’t grasp it. Because there’s no context in the statement “Jesus was crucified, is risen, and coming again.” Without knowing the history, it seems an odd thing. So, let’s go back to the Garden.

Before the apple event, Adam and Eve were pure and sinless, able to be with God. After the apple, however, the knowledge of good and evil separated them, and us, from God so that we had to make a sacrifice to allow God to be together with us again.

God gave very specific plans for sacrifices because people, born into sin, could not easily stop their sinful nature. Centuries upon centuries of people who were unable to be sinless, had to use sacrifices to be able to get together with God but they continued to fail. God sent many prophets to help the people but the people were bent on sin.

Eventually, God sent Jesus as an example of how the people should be and then to become the Great Sacrifice of all time for all the people. Jesus gave His life for all so that, through the belief of His Gift, we can be together with God again.

We can be together with God as long as we admit our sin and accept Jesus as our sacrifice. That’s the short version.

I work in THE most special place of all the world, in my opinion, and no matter how many times God shows up, it’s always a delightful surprise.

Just a moment ago, I saw a child in a grocery cart, really uncomfortably looking, sitting quietly and observing his surroundings. He’s 4, and the calmest kid ever. I walked up to him and asked, “Are you comfortable, all crammed up like that?” He answered, amiably, “Yeah.” He didn’t judge me but had the sweetest aroma of Christ about him.

He said, “Look what I found.”
I replied, “It’s a ladder. Are you gonna climb to heaven on it?”
Immediately and suddenly, he turned to face me, and said “YES!” He was abrupt and purpose driven and his eyes looked into my soul, his pupils dilated. I felt the Holy Spirit gush into me like a flood, my eyes holding back tears as I turned to control it.

When I turned back, I asked to see his eyes again but they were normal; at least as normal as eyes can be when they are bright and shiny and blueish gray. I made a comment about how awesome his eyes were and his mom agreed. I don’t know if she felt what had just happened or not but it blew me away. I know she is aware of his closeness to Jesus because she said as much.

If ever I should forget who I am, God always reminds me with the coolest messages from my favorite little people.

We are Warriors and there is a battle being waged every day. The enemy thinks he’s winning, which makes him gloat. We must stand up for what’s right and good and true. The time for action is NOW! Be the Jesus that they need you to be and remember who you are: a child of the Creator of the Universe who is particularly fond of you.

For those of us that are introverts, becoming a disciple of Jesus automatically means we are always outside of our comfort zones. Becoming a true disciple means to be comfortable outside of the box because our faith and His Grace make it possible.

Before Christ, I was uncomfortable approaching a stranger and creating a conversation. Before Christ, I could never be assertive and would always wait for others to take the lead. Before Christ, I stayed in the shadows, content with my obscurity, basking in the bliss of ignorance.

Now, however, I’m more apt to volunteer for opportunities that are beyond my skill. I’m willing to accept the challenges presented because I know I’m not alone. It’s ok that I don’t feel ready because then I have to trust in Jesus to bring me through.

Instead of the usual useless ways we talk to ppl, ie., “How’s your family? How’re your pets? Didja gitny snow?” Try asking something more meaningful like “How is your relationship with Jesus going?” Or “What has God be saying to you lately?” That’s a conversation worth remembering and on which to ponder.

I came in contact with a true disciple of Jesus today: someone that has completely let go of her life, picked up her cross, and is following Jesus, like he told the rich man in
Matthew 19:16-20.

This person lives in a car with a friend, only gets what money is given to her, and spends her time helping people get whatever they need. This disciple shares the surplus that she acquires with people that are less fortunate than herself.

She survives only by the Grace of God as His Helper and has chosen her way of life because of a message she received from God recently.

Her own story is hard enough to shatter the hearts of the bravest Warriors of Christ, and yet, she survives as a testament that Jesus is alive and kicking. During a two week period, she lost a parent, a brother, a friend and all her possessions when her house burned down. Her reaction was a mental breakdown.

I mentioned to her that I had once walked up to the edge of a cliff in my mind and I knew that if I fell, I wouldn’t come back. I chose to back up from the precipice. She chose to jump.

At some point, she found herself trying to commit su***de in traffic and God said “Daughter, it’s not your time yet. I have work for you to do.” She said someone came to her asking for help and she knew right then that her purpose was helping others.

The woman she brought to me needing food was one of her “clients”. There are people living right next to us that are suffering in ways we cannot fathom.

The Saint told me that we obviously help because we want to help because it’s not a natural thing. I agreed that we help because we want to do it.

There is nothing quite like someone saying to you, “Thank you SO MUCH for your help. I don’t know what we would have done without it.” It always humbles me and reminds me of all of the things for which I am thankful.

It’s TIME to be SUCCESSFUL, WARRIORS!!!

Separation of church and state does not mean what we have done to our schools, our public offices, our government buildings. Thanks to the rewrite of history, truth has been forgotten and other agendas have been pushed to create a less Godly America.

Think about it. When the pilgrims left Europe, the church WAS the state and the Pope influenced every aspect of life from the pauper to the king. Bibles were scarce, as was literacy, and people were being crushed by the weight of the church. It was not the church as we know today where Jesus is love and knowing Him and being known by him is the purpose of life.

When our government was established, separation of church and state was intended to keep the church from ruling the people. The government creates rules, the church creates values, and they work together to create life, love, and the pursuit of happiness ie., joy.

If there is government without church, it becomes corrupt, as we have seen, because the values are lost.

We have been silent for too long, eating the fat of the land, becoming lazy and allowing values to be lost by our apathy.

It’s time to WAKE UP!

RISE, WARRIORS and SHOUT JESUS!

Put up signs that encourage others. Tell ppl that their lives have meaning and purpose!

Those that are offended are the ones that don’t know Him so they kindly point themselves out.

There has never been a better time in this country to share your testimony about how Jesus changed your life.

God hit me with a revelation today. We always want to know why stuff happens and understand it; like why the neighbor shot Mark Fields, a guy in Lawrenceburg with a family and everything going for him.

But in order to know, we would have to know all the trauma and pain that the neighbor had been through. In order to understand, we would have to feel that pain.

Thank You, God, that we are on a need-to-know basis because I don’t want to carry the weight of all his trauma and pain.

Once we know something, even if we give it to God, it’s still hanging on the wall, still available to be perused if we happen to venture there again. Even if we lock it away, it can come back in an instant, uninvited, and make us bleed internally again.

God has given us the freedom of not knowing everything; not feeling everything, not experiencing everyone’s trauma and pain*.

All we really need to do is trust that HE knows the reasons and the purposes of all things and that He will work it all out. In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., “Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, I’m free at last!”

*There are exceptions like ppl that are super sensitive to others but that’s a gift that is meant for proper use.

And Jesus said to the “There is no one good, not even one. Only God is good.” Mark 10:18

Today, I heard, for the first time from a pulpit, that people are inherently bad and need Jesus to make us good. Thus far, I’ve only heard that we are sinners needing a Savior but somehow that just didn’t sink in the same way because sin is one of those Bible words that we don’t use in everyday speech.

I’ve heard about us being sinners and needing atonement and I THOUGHT I knew what that was but saying it like we are naturally bad and need Jesus to make us good enough to be with God makes so much more sense to me. That’s why I sometimes get the urge to do naughty things.

Many times, recently, I’ve had the urge to roast someone or say a mean thing that a Saved, “borrrrned again” Christian should not say or not even want to say. I’ve felt so guilty for even thinking mean things, much less actually saying them and when I have said them, I’ve instantly known it was a mistake. I’ve asked “God, why did I do that?”

Realizing that I’m actually not ‘good’, that no one is, is very helpful. We sometimes ask the question “why do bad things happen to good ppl?” when that’s not even a true thought. We should be asking and acknowledging why do good things happen to bad ppl? Ppl mostly, generally, think that they are good when, they actually are not. We would like to suppose that because we follow most laws and don’t stray too far from the herd that we are good enough but God wants us to be so much more than good enough.

God needs us to be Warriors of the Faith; to be courageous and strong; to know that we know that we know the Jesus Loves us; to be bold and stand up for righteousness; to not only look for opportunities but to eagerly welcome them and to step out in faith planting seeds do that God can reap the harvest.

THE TIME IS NOW!!

It’s so amazing how God can take the enemies best work and turn it into a good thing.

Like when we are being attacked by missunderstandings and assumptions and complete lack of story checking, which could easily bring out the wrong reaction from us; but if we hold onto faith that God will handle it, He always turns it into something wonderful.

Many times, when we are faced with persecution, we want to react. Recently, I felt that I was being attacked and one small attack turned into a storm of attacks from people reacting without thinking.

Like them, I wanted to defend my honor but every time I thought about doing something, the Holy Spirit would tell me “not yet.”

As the storm raged on, and the accusations flew, I began to see that any untimely reaction would be futile. My faith increased and I ignored the storm. I have no idea where it went because I put my eyes on Jesus.

On Wednesday night worship at church, I asked the Holy Spirit to fill me and my whole body tingled as He did exactly that. I worshipped my Lord without distraction and found that peace that passes understanding.

God always makes a good way out of evil. His promises never fail. His promises never fail.

On Sunday, we had a guest preacher from Nigeria, Pastor John, who preached a wonderful message about how we need to be covered in the Divine Presence of God.

When we are living in the Divine Presence, we are truly able to walk through the valley of death and fear no evil. We are filled with a confidence that no person can disturb or shake.

Pastor John said that there are four things we must do to be living in His Divine Presence.

1. We have to be born again. God loves all people but when we acknowledge That Jesus died for us, that’s when God’s like “Let’s Go!”

2. We have to be in His Word. Gotta be reading and studying and meditating on the Bible every day.

3. We need to be praying constantly. On the surface, that seems impossible with all the distractions of life, but we can involve Jesus in our thoughts and conversations. The more we do, the easier it gets.

4. We should be worshipping and praising God because, after all, He’s the Creator of the universe and He bothers to care about each of us individually. He deserves all of our love.

IF we do those things consistently, we will see God change our lives and our journeys will become enlightened and fruitful. We will become the change we wish to see in the world.

John 14:12
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
