5 ways (We tested) to increase our AOV and actually worked 💰

We've tried literally hundreds of ways to increase the AOV on all of our ecommerce stores and these are what have brought us the best results so far:

1. Send Targeted Upsells
It's easy for a customer to buy again something very similar to his first purchase. What we did here is we created segments in Klaviyo (you can use your own email marketing tool) per product or per category and we sent personalised suggestions.

2. Create Bundles
If you have data on past orders, check to see which of them are mostly bought together. Now create bundles in order to improve your AOV and use a nice offer to maximize results!

3. Bundle Colours Together
Something that applies mostly to clothing brands, is the colour bundle! Most people (plus me) buy a white T-shirt and they like it so much that they buy the black one as well. Make it easy for customers to buy them together.

4. Make Post-purchase offers
There is no better moment to try and sell than your current customer. Use an app like ReConvert to create post-purchase upsell offers right on the "Thank you" page!

5. Offer Discounts
One of the most effective ways to increase your AOV is by giving an extra discount if someone's cart value is above a certain point. For example 15% discount on orders above 100$.
