One of my favorite things about this work is getting to be in the room when a client decides to go for it.

I talked about this in the episode this week. There are moments — like when someone needs $40,000 to get to the closing table and you can see the path, and you lay it out, and then you just wait — where the best thing you can do is hand it back to them.
I can guide someone to the decision. I can show them what is possible. But THEY are the ones who say yes.

Getting to celebrate that with them, watching them realize what they were able to do — that is the part of the job I could do every single day.

The same thing happens in the classroom. When an agent is mid-conversation in a workshop and something clicks — when they go from manufacturing content to realizing their last three client conversations were the content all along — I get to be there for that moment too.

That is what I mean when I talk about joyful marketing. The moment when someone realizes they already had what they needed.

I had someone in a workshop recently tell me she was relieved she didn't have to be an influencer.

She is a real estate agent. She is not an influencer. And nobody had ever told her those two things were different.

We have completely mixed up the idea that influencing and marketing are the same job. They are not.

An influencer needs reach. The more people who see them, the better the whole thing works. But if you are a real estate agent, a fractional COO, a service provider of any kind — reach without trust doesn't get you clients. It just gets you followers.

What you need is for the right person to find you, understand what you do, and know exactly how to hire you. That is marketing. And you do not need a hundred thousand people to see it. You need the right people to feel like you are talking directly to them.

Go look at your last three posts. If a stranger landed on them, would they know what you do, who you help, and what to do next? If the answer is no to any of those, that is where you start.

For a long time I believed that if I wanted something done right, I had to do it myself.

That belief felt like the right thing to feel. I care about quality. I care about my clients. I care about the work. So of course I should be the one doing it.

What I didn't see was that the belief had a ceiling built into it.

I was stuck at 12 to 15 transactions/year because I was spending my best energy on things that weren't mine to do. The admin, the paperwork, the follow-up, the coordination — all the stuff that kept the business running but kept me from growing it.

When I brought in a TC, things got so much easier. I finally stopped doing the work that was slowing me down.

My guest this week, Katie Coleman, said something that stopped me mid-conversation: by the time you're drowning, you can't think clearly enough to hire well.If you have been doing everything yourself because that is just how you are wired, ask one question this week: what is one thing on your task list that is not yours to do?Start there.

That is your next hire.Full episode is up now. Search Happy Go Social wherever you get your podcasts.

The podcast episode was normal.

The thumbnail process was not.

There is something deeply humbling about recording an episode where you’re trying to say something useful, and then immediately being asked to make faces like YouTube personally needs proof you have emotions.

Anyway. New episode is OUT.

Imagine being the go-to person other business owners trust when they need help making sense of the moving pieces.

That’s Katie.

She is finishing a Harvard MBA. She helps business owners clean up the behind-the-scenes problems that make running a business feel heavier than it needs to be. She can spot the bottleneck, name the real issue, and help make the next decision feel less overwhelming.

Her work is thoughtful, strategic, and hard to capture in one quick post.

So we started by looking at what people need to understand before they can trust her, hire her, and remember her.

What does she do?
Who needs it?
What problem are they sitting in right before they reach out?
What should they do next?

That is the work that turns expertise into a message people can actually understand and act on. It means translating complex skills into clear language, connecting those skills to real business problems, and showing people why it matters right now.

When that foundation is clear, marketing becomes easier because people immediately recognize themselves in what you do.

If people struggle to understand what you do, DM me COACH and I’ll send you the details.

Some people love creating content.
Some people love serving clients but struggle with showing up online consistently.

Curious what it’s like for you 👀

Do you genuinely enjoy creating content or does it feel more like a task on your to-do list?

Some of the best content ideas do not come from trends or viral audios 🎙️

They come from real conversations. Pay attention to the questions your clients ask, the things they worry about, and the goals they talk about. That is the kind of content that helps people feel seen and understood.

The internet is already full of content.

What people are really looking for is clarity. Clear messaging. Clear value. Clear communication that makes them instantly understand who you are and why they should care.

Because when people are confused, they scroll. When they feel understood, they stay.

What do you think makes content instantly clear and engaging for you? 👀

22/05/2026

You do not need to choose between being present and creating content.

If I’m sitting with a client and they say something that sparks an idea, I’m not stopping the conversation to pull out my phone and stage a moment. I want to stay in the moment.

That’s where B-roll saves me.

I keep photos and video clips of houses, coffee shops, driving around town, opening doors, walking through neighborhoods, random everyday moments. Then later, I can pair those visuals with the story or lesson.

The only thing I do in the moment is capture the thought before it disappears.

Voice note: “I just had a client ask me about moving before selling…”

Quick transcript.

Or even: “I just talked to a client about XYZ. Put my client as the hero and me as the guide. Help me turn this into a story.”

The conversation stays real. The content still gets made. And nobody feels like they’re sitting through a behind-the-scenes production day.

Save the idea. Stay with the person.

I love my algorithm. There, I said it. 😄

This clip is from the first episode of the Happy Go Social podcast and it kind of captures the whole vibe of what we're building here. Social media gets a bad reputation, and honestly some of it is deserved. But there's a lot of good happening online when you're intentional about what you're consuming and who you're around.

You are who you hang around, and that applies just as much online as it does in real life. If your feed feels heavy and exhausting, that's worth paying attention to. And if it feels energizing and helpful, you're probably doing something right.
This episode is a fun one. We get into market center marketing, thought leadership, and why showing up online with your actual personality matters more than any graphic you could post. Shoutout to our STP MVP, Trent, the man behind the screen (lest we not forget the pup behind the screen- Cami), for making this first episode so good. 🙌
