You've had your Halloween decorations up since mid-August, haven't you? 👻

Well, the spooky season is almost here, and so is the Richmond region's scariest Halloween tradition. 💀 Terror on the Farm 2025 rises from the dark October 3 – November 1 at Ashland Berry Farm… and this year, four NEW nightmares await:

🕷️ Blackwater Bayou
🩸 Last Chance: Dead & Breakfast
🧟‍♀️ Psycho Path 3D
🤮 Bo**er Woods: Nightwalkers Edition

When the sun sets, transforms into a twisted world of swamps, shadows, and screams.

🔥 After the scares: cozy up by the bonfire + fuel up with donuts & fries.

🎟️ Tickets vanish fast — grab yours now at ashlandberryfarm.com

Should I start posting on my Jennifer L. Pullinger page more often? 😁

The last time I posted was, well, quite a while ago, and A LOT has been happening since then. A LOT a lot. But mostly, working on lots of fun, creative projects, including the website for Shagg's Surf & Sport, an iconic Indialantic, Florida surf shop, now reimagined as an online shop featuring vintage Shagg’s apparel and classic surf accessories. 🌴☀️

Give them a follow on Instagram at www.instagram.com/shaggssurfshop and check out the website at www.shaggssurfshop.com 🏄!

Shagg's Surf & Sport, founded in 1965 in the Sunshine State, was and is based on a dream of building a family business while supporting and being an integral part of a celebrated surf culture and vibrant East Coast surfing community.

💥 It’s out! 💥 The In The Thick episode I’ve been waiting for is finally here...

A few weeks ago, in the midst of reaching out to media in support of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s book “Healing Politics: A Doctor's Journey Into the Heart of Our Political Epidemic," I got the attention of a producer with the “In the Thick” podcast, with hosts Julio Ricardo Varela and Maria Hinojosa (a LEGEND in journalism, formerly of CBS, NPR, and PBS), and it led to this must-listen-to episode featuring Abdul, epidemiologist, former health commissioner of Detroit, former gubernatorial candidate of Michigan (’18), and contributor. 🎧 He was one of eight appointees to the Biden-Sanders "Unity Task Force" on health care that helped shape the 2020 Democratic Party platform.

🎙️ Tune in to hear Abdul talk about the future of public health with a new administration and beyond, how the vaccination process can effectively reach all Americans, and the connections between public health and politics.

Abdul is an incredible communicator, and breaks down the hard-to-grasp into the easy-to-comprehend. 👉🏻 Head to inthethick.org/podcast_episodes/protecting-each-other to listen.

For the past few weeks, I've been working to spread the word about University of Pennsylvania physician-scientist-patient Dr. David Fajgenbaum's national best-selling memoir, "Chasing My Cure: A Doctor’s Race to Turn Hope Into Action" (Ballantine, chasingmycure.com). 📚

David Fajgenbaum's book discusses how he has been able to achieve his longest remission ever from Castleman disease, a COVID-like illness, how he identified a drug to treat himself after nearly dying five times, and the lessons from his journey that he's applying to other diseases, like COVID-19, the latter through his UPenn lab's CORONA (COvid19 Registry of Off-label & New Agents) project, the world's only database of all published treatments used against COVID-19.

To say his story is inspiring just doesn't cover it. It's a beyond inspiring, needs-to-be-a-movie story about hope and resilience against all odds. ✨ You can listen to him on the CBS News Radio series "America: Changed Forever," which I was thrilled to book him on recently.

On newsstands and online now, the spring issue of C-BIZ from C-ville Weekly, which includes my story on -based Conscious Capitalist Group Inc., providers of entrepreneurship, community engagement, and career readiness training for local youth — designed to help them succeed in life and work and develop a spirit of giving back. READ IT:

Many organizations—for-profit and not-for-profit—get their start out of a desire to seize a market opportunity or fulfill an unmet need. Similarly, the Charlottesville-based Conscious Capitalist Group Foundation launched because no other organization was providing what it does—entrepreneurship...

In the current issue of C-ville Weekly's C-BIZ, I take a look at the history of the former and much-missed Spudnut Coffee Shop 🍩, now Quality Pie. (Fortunately, Quality Pie 🥧 keeps the alive with its occasional donut-shaped beignets.)

THEN: Spudnut Coffee Shop, opened 1969; closed December 2016. NOW: Quality Pie, opened June 2018. It’s fair to say Spudnut Coffee Shop, formerly located at 309 Avon St. in Belmont, was a C’ville institution. And when the owners announced its closure in late 2016, it was a sad day for potato flou...
