Southern Rust Design never fully shut down. But starting in 2020, I had to give more and more of my time to caring for my mom and dad as their health declined. By mid to late 2023, most of my energy was focused on them.
In October 2024, I lost my dad to pneumonia. In December, my mom passed after a long fight with Alzheimer’s. That same month, my brother died from a massive stroke. And in March 2025, my sister lost her battle with cancer.
It was the hardest stretch of my life. After taking time to mourn and get my footing back, I knew I had to rebuild, not just for myself, but because that's what my family would have wanted me to do.
Now Patrick Eddings, my son-in-law and business partner, has officially joined Southern Rust Design. He’s leading Client Growth and Strategy; if you reach out, he’ll likely be the first person you talk to. Patrick brings experience in business, sales, and strategy, and a real commitment to helping brands grow the right way.
We're still about real conversations, thoughtful design, and marketing that delivers. We love seeing small businesses succeed, especially the ones right here in our own backyard.
