For folks who are already part of The Fly Fishing Community friends or, for Fly Fishing wannabes. The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo is one of the oldest & best shows around.

Just do it.

The oldest fly-fishing only show east of the Mississippi. The Expo features some of the biggest names in fly fishing, fly tying and rod building. The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo is run by The Michigan Fly Fishing Club which is a 501(c)(3) organization.

A wonderful day - to view Claude Monet Art at the DIA, the Detroit Institute of Arts, with my sister.

Entry registration for the 2018 General Clinton Canoe Regatta - the first leg of the Triple Crown of Canoe Racing will open on February 1, 2018. More info at www.canoeregatta.org

Michigan's AuSable River Canoe Marathon - July 28-29 - is the second leg of the Triple Crown. More at www.ausablecanoemarathon.org

The Triple Crown of Canoe Racing was created in 1992 to shine a spotlight on the athletes who compete in all three of the North America's toughest and most prestigious ultra-marathon canoe races. Some shots of Detroit, Michigan after dark.

In my youth, I took the bus and spent the day downtown visiting my mom, who at the time worked as a cookware demonstator at the J. L. Hudson Department Store and Addition.

Later in life, after high school, I worked 7-1/2 years downtown in the operations area of NBD at the National Bank of Detroit Building.

Downtown Detroit is vibrant once again.

Don't miss "Monet: Framing Life", at the Detroit Institute of Arts (through March 8).
