I'm a huge David Byrne fan and today's Seth Godin post was about Fela Kuti... and Seth included a YouTube video. About 5 minutes into the video I was struck by how similar the setup and band mannerisms and audience engagement were to a Talking Heads show.

Turns out, David Byrne said Fela Kuti blew his mind early on in his career (https://pitchfork.com/features/5-10-15-20/david-byrne-on-the-music-that-made-him/) - and no kidding, just like David Byrne's American Utopia on Broadway, this was like finding a whole new chapter of a novel you've read a hundred times before. Only, this chapter was written by a completely different author and fits perfectly into the narrative.
