From Champaign to the "Shark Tank" stage and back! Today students in Terry Kasdan's Media Entrepreneurship class at the University of Illinois had the opportunity to hear from Charlotte Trecartin, founder of CharCharms (https://charcharms.com) and WallCandy (https://wallcandyshop.com), and a fellow Illini alum. Charlotte shared the story of how she started and grew CharCharms, what it was like pitching to Mark Cuban, Mr. Wonderful, and the rest of the Shark Tank cast, and lessons she’s learned along the way as an entrepreneur. She was incredibly generous with her time, sharing practical advice, answering every question we threw at her, and showing what’s possible with creativity, persistence, and the courage to take risks.
