Twenty-five years later, we still remember the sky.
On September 11, 2001, a clear blue sky stretched above our country on a morning that would forever change it. Standing outside the Geneseo Historical Museum here in our hometown of Geneseo, Illinois, we look to the sky again — remembering the lives lost, the families forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the countless acts of courage and compassion that followed.
For those of us who remember that day, may we continue to tell its story.
For those who know September 11 only through history, may we help them understand not only what was lost, but what we learned about courage, service, community, and standing together.
Twenty-five years have passed. A generation has grown up. The skyline has changed.
But our promise has not.
We remember them.
We honor them.
We will never forget.
Today, Team WTI joins the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and people across the country in looking upward together, acknowledging that we all live under the same, beautiful sky.
