And no amount of social media posts, networking, SEO, or advertising will fix confusing messaging.

The smartest people in the room are often the hardest to help. Not because they aren’t capable. Because they’ve been carrying the weight of figuring everything out themselves for too long.

WTF MOMENT

I was talking with a CFO about hiring a new VP of Operations, and the entire conversation revolved around skills, experience, and ex*****on.

I had someone come up to me after a speaking event and ask: “How do I know if we are ready to hire a marketing agency?”

Such a good question… and honestly? Most people don’t ask it. They just hire one and hope for the best... and then wonder why it didn’t work. The client blames the marketing agency, and the agency blames the client.

Here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud: the error is on both sides because they didn't start with clarity.

Clarity on who they actually want as clients.

Clarity on what makes them different.

Clarity on what success even looks like.

So the marketing agency ends up guessing. And guessing gets expensive.

I put together something I’ve been using behind the scenes to fix this before the investment is made.
