It has happened to you, though you probably never thought it took you so little to make your mind about whether you liked a website or not.
Immediately after you lay your eyes on a website, you have already made up your mind: you like it or you don't.
It's that fast. And that simple.
We're hardwired in such a way that we subconsciously decide whether we like something or not, right after it pops in front of us.
Kinda like love at first sight, but without all the complications that life throws at you after the fact.
With websites, people are usually looking for a quick fix to their problems, so this knee jerk reaction comes in handy, right?
I mean, if you badly need a plumber because your kitchen sink is leaking like it's going to flood your house, you probably won't take 30 minutes navigating a website just to find out it wasn't to your liking.
Nah. You make a decision even before the website loads. Because if it doesn't load fast enough, you're off to the next one, right?
So put yourself in your visitors' shoes.
Does your website measure up to the expectations that your visitors might have about it?
Is it well designed?
Is it fast?
Is it responsive?
Is it easy to navigate?
Is it conversion-focused?
One way to be objective about it is to figure out what is your website conversion rate.
How many leads do you get from your website per every 100 unique visitors.
If you're getting less than 2, you have work to do.
