Am I the only one getting totally fatigued by "AI slop"? đ¤đ¤
Seriously, half the posts I see every day from local businesses and restaurants look like they were generated using the exact same generic AI template. Glowing fake food, weirdly airbrushed people, and captions that sound like a robot trying to pass a job interview.
Hereâs the thing: while marketers are super excited about cranking out fast content, consumers are getting tired of it. Recent industry reports show a huge disconnectâlow-quality AI content is actually hurting brand reputations. People are craving authenticity so much that some brands are actually winning big just by advertising "100% human-made" creative work!
If youâre running a page and want to make sure your audience doesn't scroll right past you thinking you're just another bot, hereâs how to stay out of the "AI slop" trap:
đ¸ Ditch the hyper-polished stock/AI photos: A slightly imperfect, real photo of your actual team, restaurant, or product will beat a flawless, fake-looking AI image every single time.
đŁď¸ Sound like a real person: If you use AI to help brainstorm ideas or draft a caption, edit out the fluff. If it sounds like something youâd never say out loud to a customer, scrap it.
đ Show the "behind the scenes": Show the messy kitchen, the real prep work, or the genuine day-to-day. People connect with real effort and real human flaws!
AI can be a great tool, but don't let it steal your brand's actual personality. Whatâs the worst example of "AI slop" youâve spotted in your feed lately? đ
