I am so pleased to be a part of the thunderdomesticity annual show curated by Klaire Lockhart, opening tonight in Vermillion, South Dakota. (which also exists in the internet ether on FotoLab No.7 )
Title of my print: “Prophetic Mote” Digital collage 2025, bottom line in show, grounding it with dark colors.

This year’s exhibition is called “Witness Me.” I am in awe of this show concept with this title. To witness, to document, to give space to— literally in the case of an exhibition with this title, to SEE its fullness and individuality during a time when it’s more and more clear that our diversity is not welcome to those in power.
Because diversity is strength, diversity is radical acceptance, and those in power know they are finished if everyone sees our beauty, our humanity first. Not last, Not an afterthought. Humanity first. Not the way those with power are shaming and beating up on those that are different. Different than what? It is crazy that our very humanity is getting the walloping of a lifetime as people are deported left and right for the offense of being human and diverse.
But first, why is this show uniquely a plea to “Witness Me”? The location is an ephemeral exhibition on the side of a building and the art is printed beautifully on sheets of archival paper, then glued to the painted concrete wall. The glue is wheat-paste, a time honored tradition for protest posters going up on buildings, on subway walls, on light poles, on doors, anywhere there was a surface that people would view as they walked past. An exhibition that is free and open to the people. One that will, due to its ephemeral nature, degrade over time, become faded, become weathered, torn, suffer small animals to make “adjustments”— all of this is OK.
