Yesterday was my FIVE YEAR anniversary as a business owner!!! It's hard to believe it's been that long since I stopped working for micromanagers who thought negative reinforcement would make employees want to give 150%, have zero work-life balance, and do the job of three people for the pay of 1/2 a person..... 🤣

I don't talk a lot about what led to me starting Karatopia Creative, but there was a lot of toxicity involved.

I'm so grateful that I had my husband, family, and network of colleagues supporting me when I decided to give this little venture a shot. There were a few doubters but here I am, five years later, making it work!

Happy Anniversary to Karatopia Creative! Maybe this year I'll actually start posting on Social Media..... 🤣🤣🤣

How likely are you to NOT do business with someone if their blogs and social posts have numerous grammatical errors??

I'm a self-proclaimed grammar n**i (though not the type to correct and nag anyone about their bad writing). My writing style is more conversational than rigidly based on stylesheets, so I don't overthink the occasional run-on sentence or oddly placed punctuation. Looking through social media, though, I often cringe at posts, blogs, ads that have not been proofed and edited: the ones with duplicate words, no punctuation, their/they're or to/too confusion... It had me thinking about the impact bad grammar may or may not have on potential clients.

So, I'd love to hear some 'market research' thoughts on the effects. Does a poorly written post on a company's social media page or blog make you look for other options; or do you overlook it as 'the norm' and do business with them anyway?

What are your thoughts on grammar and social media/blogging?
