What do I actually do to prep a vacant house for real estate photos?

A lot of walking around flipping switches. 😂

But really, a random item on the counter probably isn’t going to make someone decide not to buy the house. But that’s not really the point. The goal is to remove as many distractions as possible while someone is looking through the photos and deciding whether they can see themselves living there.

Real estate photography, to me, isn’t about making a house look perfect. It’s about helping the house tell its story clearly. That’s always my goal when I’m photographing a home for my agents.

This mini session started with giggles and basically just stayed that way. 🙂

These brothers were SO much fun in the studio this weekend. From the very beginning, they brought the smiles, the laughs, and all the brotherly fun.

Family photos can be stressful — and honestly, a lot of the time, it comes down to one thing: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO WEAR?!

Over the years, I’ve found a few things that have helped me personally and have also helped my clients take some of the stress out of getting everyone dressed:

1. Pick one outfit first.
2. Let everyone pick what they want.
3. Look at the colors in your home.

And remember: you don’t have to make everyone look identical to make your photos look beautiful. Your family is made up of different personalities, and I want that to show! Always feel free to reach out if you have questions about your outfits. I'm happy to help!
