We don't post too often about our web design and development work... most know us for our SEO and digital marketing chops. But we have a very talented design and development crew that are always making our clients extremely happy.

It's hard to believe we've been incorporated int he USA now for 13 years. BCB Homes has been a client for 11 of those years so we're happy that we've given them a new home on the web.

When new clients tell us “I need more traffic” that may not actually be the case.

Are you tracking your analytics? It may be that your website is getting 100,000 unique visitors per month, but none of them are doing anything. If that’s the case you have a conversion problem, not a traffic problem.

When clients tell us “I need to grow my social following” that may not actually be the case.

Are you interacting on social and treating it as a conversation? You can’t just “post stuff” and expect results. You need to follow like-minded businesses and individuals. Be active in your community. Read and like, retweet, or comment on what others are posting as well. You need to engage.

When clients tell us “I need more customers” that may not actually be the case, either. According to popular Marketing Metrics, the probability of selling to an existing customer is 60–70%. The probability of selling to a new prospect is 5-20% depending on your industry and offering.

You've probably done some research on your competitors, and you probably did so by using the Internet. But you can do all kinds of research offline, too.

Another great spot to learn more about your competitors is by visiting the magazine section at your local bookstore.

Think about it: There's probably a flagship publication in your industry. Maybe several. And you may already read them...

But do you look at the advertisements inside?

Do you read the advertorials?

Do you call the numbers in those ads, and pay attention to the call scripts your competitors are using when they get you on the phone and try to sell you? Or visit the website links in those ads and take note of the landing pages?
