It’s Foster Parent Appreciation Week in Florida! Never a better time than now to say THANK YOU to ALL foster families for the gift you provide. 🙏

Also never a better time than now to communicate the critical need throughout the state for more foster families - so for those who have been considering the journey of becoming a foster parent, take that next step today. The Devereux team will facilitate connection with our partner lead agencies in each region to support the process. For those who have been considering providing a life-changing opportunity to become licensed as a Safe Foster Home for youth who have been a victim of human trafficking - the Devereux team will provide the training and support AT NO COST in any/every area of the state through our partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families.

The “hanging of the hands” is a time honored tradition each to symbolize our collective advocacy on behalf of children throughout our state that “every child should be healthy, ready to learn, and able to achieve their full potential.”

The Devereux Florida Team has participated in this annual event during the Florida Legislative Session for over 20 years.

Our thanks to ALL of our lawmakers, both sides of the isle, for their service on behalf of Floridians.

Celebrating Founder’s Day!

Helena Trafford Devereux was a remarkable woman who forever changed the course of special education for individuals living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. She devoted her life to helping many of the most vulnerable and underserved members of our communities. On what would have been our founder’s 137th birthday – now Devereux’s 110th anniversary – we recognize Miss Devereux’s contributions to the field of behavioral health that continue to inspire us to make a meaningful and positive impact in the lives of the individuals and families we serve every day.
