This page will most likely be changing to Mitchell Hamline Business Society soon. For this upcoming semester I know many students have classes in the early evening or night. We are attempting to plan for some events this coming semester. Would students go to events in the morning? We had a few "breakfast" events last year with practicing attorneys that worked very well and were hoping to continue those. Mornings work better, but we were hoping for some student feedback as to what times students would potentially be interested in going to such an event. Put in a comment or send us a message if you have a preference.

JD Advantage Jobs in Business

Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 4:30-5:30pm in the Kelley Board Room and hear from attorneys working in business and using their law degree in non-traditional ways. Our guest speakers will share with us the paths they traveled from law school to their current positions and how they have utilized their J.D. in the business setting at companies like United Health Group, Regis Corporation and Medtronic.

The program will be followed by a short reception where you can meet our guests and ask questions one-on-one.

The Business Law Society and Environmental Law Society are hosting a combined Career Panel covering the intersection between Business and the Environment, including corporate compliance, environmental regulation, and commercial land use. Mark your calendars for October 13 at 6:00pm. Fall Break is a great time to get a head start on your summer plans and this is a great opportunity to see some of the diverse career paths that are available. Dinner will be provided!

Join us on March 24, 2015 from 4:00-6:30pm for Exploring Careers in Business Law – a program featuring a diverse group of business lawyers, including in-house counsel, corporate and non-profit counsel, governmental counsel and business executives who will discuss the array of opportunities available to those with a law degree and interested in business.

The program will be held in Room 20 of Mondale Hall at the University of Minnesota Law School and a reception will follow in Auerbach Commons where lawyers and law students can meet and discuss opportunities in business law.

Register online by Friday, March 20.
