2/2 Political Campaigns and the Media 102: MEDIA FRENZY, Part Two. What happens after a Media Frenzy is over. Because its a HUGE money maker for the media, and the momentum it creates, they will turn all that ferocity on someone else. That someone else, if Biden is forced out, will be the Dem nominee. It will not end if Biden leaves. And it will not be transferred to Trump. It will be transferred to the next candidate. So, if that is Kamala Harris, the scrutiny on her will be devastating and immediate. Same with any new candidate. This is a media storm started by Biden, created by democrats, along with a few million foreign bots, and perpetuated and monetized by the media. We have created a monster which will follow us into the fall. This will dissipate for Biden as he is the object of it. However, if someone new is brought in, it will be transferred to them.

It’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which a PR professional would advise a client or company to issue a release like this.

From Patricia Ewing:

This piece struck a chord with me because I lived through it.
The New York Times recently trivialized Trump's administration's breaking of the Hatch Act by not attacking it head-on.
This is a pattern. My professional experience, what I have directly lived through, is that many times major media outlets hold Democrats too much much higher standards than Republicans. We already know that Republicans don't police themselves. They don't care. Democrats do.

VP Al Gore held to a much higher standard. Vilified for not breaking and following norms.

I bring this up as my frustration has never gone away from living through and watching Republicans acting with impunity, Democrats taking the blame. Then many times the news media downplays Republicans and up plays Democrats and calls it equivalency.

Really, if Trump was a Democrat -- do you really think he would still be in office?

"Because the same Beltway press corps that today waves off concerns had a much different response when Democrat Gore was accused of violating the Hatch Act for making campaign fundraising phone calls from his White House office as Vice President. Compared to Trump's pay-for-play corruption of today, Gore's alleged sin seems quaint. At the time though, the story was treated as a Major Scandal. It generated endless, scolding media coverage and was kept in the headlines for years by eager journalists."

Hatch Act double standard

From Patricia Ewing:

Quick message tip to Professional Democrats

For the next 90 days ... if your message does not feed, clothe, provide shelter, or save a life, don't mention it.

Please please, add to the beginning of all your commentary, and as an example, 'We are addressing the Pandemic. We are offering viable unemployment benefits, eviction relief, safer schools, support for cities and state, fill in the blank. THEN you can add, 'anything done by the President outside of the constitution is a stunt and slows down relief to those that need it most.'

You will write it better.

Or. 'Our seniors are suffering, Covid-19 puts them at greater risk. Cutting Social Security now is cruel..." Instead of, 'Trump's payroll tax will cut social security by ending the employer-based share paid to employees.'

If you want to write a totally negative narrative? Something like, "So in so failed the American people at our lowest. My time and effort are to save lives, support those displaced by the Pandemic, and work toward safely reopening our economy. Anything else is cheap politics or incompetence.

Again, you will write it better.

We keep getting into process pi***ng matches, which is always the goal of those failing. They want to keep you talking or spinning your wheels until there is a lower ebb equivalency.
Any sentence coming out of your writing or mouth that starts with a process statement means you are losing.

We are faced with a Pandemic Depression therefore effort matters as far as the American people are concerned. Even if it's unconstitutional, it will register as an effort.
Make your effort matter more.

The message should be focused on the American people, not stupid people tricks by Washington DC politicians.

Our lives and country depend on it.
