​If someone searches for a general term, they might just be curious. If they search for something specific, they are usually much closer to taking action.​

​There is a big difference between:​

​One is browsing. One is a potential customer.​
​​
​When we build ad campaigns, we try to focus on the terms that signal someone is ready to make a decision. Lower volume can still outperform higher volume if the intent is stronger.​

​It is not always about reaching more people.​

​It is about reaching the right people at the right moment.

​When a keyword gets searched thousands of times a month, that is real demand. Those are people actively looking for a solution right now. If you build your ad strategy around those terms, you are putting your message directly in front of people who are already searching.​

​We see this all the time. A company describes their service one way, but the search terms with the most volume use different language. When we align ads and landing pages with the terms people are actually typing in, leads follow. When we ignore that and focus on what we want to say, performance drops.​

​Do not start with your message.​

​Start with the search terms that have proven monthly traffic. Figure out what your customers are already calling the problem and meet them there.​
