I felt really validated and honored to get hired by this fussy client to shoot their shiny new brushed titanium rectangular magic connected device's commercial. Here's a look at the lighting setup I did for one of the shots. I will post more about it as I see more of the finished spot released. I am very happy with the results.

Shooting Bees is a delicate matter, however with a master bee handler, Steve Kutcher we saw no bees were harmed. The art Dept and whole crew did a great job. All who were allergic left the stage when the bees came in and the medic was ready for anything. No Stings! I even got to use my luma cube behind the honey. Control -robot

A tabletop cinematographer creates an environment which often only works from one POV. Lens focal length and depth of field have a huge effect. Here's an interesting second POV of the same scene and it looks like a disorganized mess. There is a robot just out of view. Next we will close the tent around the lens and bring in some happy bees and smoke. Got Milk? -robot

We've added a 30cm riser to her so now Dorothy is a Bolt Jr++ and see over walls of foam core at Imaginary Forces Secure Shooting Facility. I don't think this violates any NDA's with !@ #$?%. www.robot-robot.com -robot

Happy New Year! My WWW.ROBOT-ROBOT.COM is alive. After decades of working with many types of rented Motion Control Systems, always wishing I had more time to tinker or test, I finally got my own rig. It is a brand new High Speed Bolt Jr+ with 30' Track, Phantom VEO 4K, Macro and Micro Lenses, triggers, pneumatics and I named it, ROBOT-ROBOT. One of the many cool things about our system is that it runs on regular wall power, 120 volts, so we can shoot anywhere without any special power requirements; studios, kitchens, conference rooms all work for us. We can setup the Bolt Jr+ with our Phantom Camera in less than an hour and we have a little test studio to show it off so come visit. My good friends please spread the word and consider ROBOT-ROBOT the next time you think MOCO might be a way to go. -robot

It's About Time I post some new work. I've been asked, what would you like to shoot? Here's an answer. This is a :30 spot but it's kind of personal, it's more of a function follows form thing. I started with an afternoon at Hollywood Ops, shooting micro 1000fps images of the works inside my Great Grandfather's pocket watch which is inscribed "Christmas 1901." It finished with a Saturday shoot at Bubba's Chop Shot shooting a period scene in a victorian photographer's studio. Special thank you to Farin at Yessian for sound design and Marshal at Olio Creative for Color and my friend that helped me.
