Did you know that these pretty lil things are actually CHOCOLATE? 🍫⁠

That's right, this is cacao — the tropical fruit that our favorite treat comes from. It's soo juicy and sweet right off the tree (tastes more like a starburst than chocolate). After harvesting the fruit, the seeds get removed from the shell. Then they go through a week-long fermentation process, get dried, roasted, and eventually mixed with sugar to create chocolate as we know it.⁠

We loved spending a few weeks out on Kauai with our client to capture this process and more. Stay tuned to see some more shots from this photo story!⁠

Our latest website project is live ⚡️

We have been working with Dr. Marina Gershkovich, licensed clinical psychologist based in New York, to develop her new brand identity and website.

It was so fun working with Marina because even though she is a doctor working in the medical space — which is usually visually traditional-looking and “safe” — she wanted her brand and site to feel vibrant, fresh, and empowering as well as reflect her personality and unique approach to therapy.

This is one of my absolute favorite photos of Emily, from one of my absolute favorite days from our time spent traveling.

It all started when our tuk-tuk driver turned friend, Rehan, offered to take us anywhere we wanted to go for the day. We decided we wanted to visit Amer Fort, and some other sites on the fringes of Jaipur city. We set off to the fort which was about a 30 minute drive from the city.

We arrived, walked over the surrounding mote, past ambling elephants, up the steep approach to the grand entrance, and into the massive entry courtyard. We were immediately overwhelmed by the massive crowds of locals and tourists, barely able to move through the chaos. We managed to get our tickets and squeeze through a small entryway, across from where everyone else was.

When we arrived on the other side of the small stone hallway, we were completely alone. There was no sign at all of the thousands of people that we had just been surrounded by. We had ventured off the main tourist path and it was like we had the entire place to ourselves.

We spent the next few hours exploring all the beautiful and ornately decorated books and crannies of the fort, and hardly saw another soul.
