Hi all! I wanted to bring something to your attention since this seems to be happening much more frequently than it used to.

One of our group members in Women Business Owners Supporting Women Business Owners recently posted that her Instagram account was hacked. She thinks (or thought) that they potentially changed her email address and password. More and more members kept chiming in that this happened to others as well.

Always, with your most important accounts, if it allows 2-factor authentication, use it. I have taken screen shots with my phone to allow you to see how to add 2-factor authentication to your Instagram accounts. This is even more important if you have access to client accounts. You can't afford to be locked out of your account or to have it entirely removed.

1) Download the Google Authenticator app.
2) For Instagram, go to the app on your phone. To the far right on the bottom of the screen, there's a circle with your profile picture in it. Tap the circle. In the upper right hand corner (circled below), you'll see 3 horizontal dashes. Tap those 3 dashes.
3) A pop up will come up on your phone. Select "settings."
4) A new screen will appear. Select "Security."
5) A new screen will appear. Select "Two-Factor Authentication."
6) A new screen will appear. Turn on "Authentication App." (You must have done step 1 first or this won't work from here out.)
7) Follow prompts to connect to Google Authenticator (or whatever other authenticator app you choose).
8) You may hold down the Instagram authenticator number with your finger and it will copy that number to your notepad. When you go back to Instagram, you can
again, hold down your number where the dashes appear and it will allow you to paste this number into that space.

People often wonder about what I do for a living. When I tell them I'm a copywriter, it doesn't seem to do much to clear things up. So, I thought I'd let my work speak for itself.

I had a client (name removed for privacy) reach out to me. I spoke with her on the phone for a few minutes about what she was trying to do (market her underwater photography to resorts and high end hotels). She sent me a short bit of her own writing. I wanted her own words to know exactly the sentiment she was looking for.

Then, I wordsmithed the hell out of it. Below, you can see what before looks like vs. the after.
