Redding was incorporated on October 4th, 1887 by pioneer, Pierson B. Reading and is a true California Gold Rush town, her nickname is Jewel of Northern California. And rightfully so, surrounded by incredible vistas, mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and over 200 miles of trails, Redding, and her surrounding area truly is the great Northern California playground.
There is so much to do in Redding; hiking, off-road biking, kayaking, flyfishing, mountain climbing, swimming, boating, exploring, and yes, you can still pan for gold!
