Why do you need Drive Traffic to Your Website?

The answer is easy, more traffic equals more new potential customers.

A bunch of years ago, having a website was just enough to get new leads, but not anymore, a website doesn’t do anything by itself. Today’s realness for any business that wants to succeed online is this:

One of the most important things in business is attention, and the fastest way to get it is online. Sharing content that your audience cares about, in different formats as the written word, images, audio, and video. By doing this you’ll get enough attention, to get more visitors and if all goes well, more new customers.

So you need to produce media content to engage with your potential customers easier and faster.
How to get traffic to your website?

There are several ways to get more traffic, there’s no special order, some methods require more money, other more time, just do what you think is better for your business.


1)Ads

This is probably the easiest and fastest way to get traffic to your website. And is fast, but not cheap. There are a bunch of places where you can buy ads, for example, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook just to mention a few.

The process is effortless, just a few steps depending on the provider you are working with.

You create your ad (Content: Media and Copy)
Set a daily budget
Publish it (and wait for approval)

That’s it, you have an Ad.

A piece of advice, before setting up your ads campaign, define who is your target audience, what is your message, and your desired outcome, this way you can measure the results and adjust the campaign if required.

2) Social Media

Publish content on Social Media can be fruitful and fun, you can interact with your audience in real-time, generate brand awareness, and is easy to share.

There are a lot of social media channels to choose from, but the best option for your business depends on your audience. Let’s see a few of the most commons.

Facebook It is very popular, with more than 2 billion active users, with around 68% of adult users.

Instagram Over 1 billion monthly users, and mostly used by teens and young adults.

Twitter Around 260 million users around the globe, used mostly by people in their 20’s, and also by a lot of companies for branding and social customer service.

LinkedIn The most important B2B social platform with over 590 million users, mostly used by people adults between 30 to 50 years.

Pinterest Excellent visual platform with 250 million monthly users and very useful to buy products. Mostly used by adults, from 18 to 50 years old.

Youtube About 1.9 billion monthly users around the globe. 50% of the audience is female, the age demographics go from 18 to 65+ years old.

3)Blog Posts

Publishing on your website relevant content that really helps your visitors is excellent for search engines. When you help your visitors to solve a problem with the info you are posting, or having a good time with your content is very likely the users will return and share your content as well.

4)Video Vlog

It is like a Blog, but instead of text, you post videos. If you want to go one step further, transcript all the content of your video, that helps a lot with SEO and some people like to read instead of watching videos.

5)Podcast

Sometimes we don’t have time to see a video or read an article, for example, when we are driving, working, or exercising. So comes in handy to have audio to offer to your audience.

There are different ways to do it, a monologue or an interview (radio show style), or simply you can extract the audio from a video and edit it a bit.

Share your podcast on your website is the idea, but you can also send all your podcasts to iTunes, Google Podcast, and Spotify.

6)SEO
SEO or Search Engine Optimization is about to get Organic or Non-Paid Traffic to your website, and the goal is to appear on the first positions of the search results on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and this is a very good way to get non-paid traffic, but takes time. If your website is on the first page results, the chances of getting more traffic are exponential.

Final thoughts

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to get traffic on your website. Start small, one at a time, this can be slow, but the rewards are excellent. More traffic means more customers and revenue for you.
