A couple months ago we had visitors in from out-of-town and decided to go to The Art Institute of Chicago. To my delight, we were able to view the exhibit “Andy Warhol-From A to B and Back Again.” I have always been intrigued by Andy Warhol, so to see this exhibit was the highlight of my day.

Andy Warhol is perhaps most notably known as the wild-haired artist from the 60’s that painted the Campbell’s soup can. That he was, but before he became an iconic American Pop artist, did you know he was a commercial artist and graphic designer? He made his start doing advertisements, illustrations and working for magazines. He loved shoes, he was fascinated with pop culture and was one of the first artists to use a Mac computer to make art. So yah, I can totally relate to this guy! His use of film and photography were on point, too. If only social media existed back then, considering he practically invented the “selfie.”

Warhol’s vision, his nonconformity and his experimentation with technique is something I admire. He was unconventional and that is one of the things I loved about him and his work. I challenge all of us to try to make an effort to push boundaries and look at the every day through a different lens.

It is long overdue, but we have finally given our website a little facelift. Yep, we admit we have been a bit hypocritical by telling our clients the importance of a well-designed website while we had ours sitting in “maintenance mode” for a bit too long. We put ours on the back-burner while we focused on our clients (hey, that’s not a bad thing is it?). BUT, we picked ourselves up from our bootstraps and got to work and are happy to announce its launch!

Our goal with the new website focused on aesthetics, increasing our online presence and sharing our latest work. The new design has clear navigation and a responsive layout for all platforms. We have integrated social media buttons to foster improved communication, making it easy to share on social media (hint, hint).
