🌾 Meet Melinda Goodman: Agriculture Advocate, Marketing Maestro, and Community Champion! 🚜
Hello everyone! 👋 Allow me to share a glimpse into my life—a journey deeply rooted in agriculture, marketing expertise, and a heart for community engagement.
🌱 From my earliest days, I've been a passionate advocate for agriculture. Growing up on a ranch north of Towner, North Dakota, instilled in me a profound love for the land, its people, and the vital role of agriculture in our lives.
🎓 Armed with an undergraduate degree in Ag Education and Extension from NDSU and a Master's Degree in Business from the University of Mary, I embarked on a career dedicated to advancing the agricultural cause.
🍊 My journey led me to diverse roles in the agricultural industry. I began with the North Dakota Grain Growers Association and later joined the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association. My expertise in commodity boards then took me to the sunny landscapes of South Texas, where I assumed the role of Executive Director for TexaSweet Citrus. There, I oversaw all marketing and promotion efforts for the Texas citrus industry.
🚀 In 2011, I embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure, founding my own full-service marketing agency, Full Tilt Marketing. Through this endeavor, I've had the honor of serving clients in the food and agriculture space, helping launch new brands, promotions, and cause marketing campaigns. One of the most rewarding initiatives has been a program that raised over $350,000 for FFA scholarships and grants in more than a dozen states.
🌟 Throughout my career, I've been selected for distinguished leadership programs in the small grains, potato, and fresh produce industry. I've been recognized on the "40 Under 40" list in fresh produce and honored as one of the eight women in fresh produce by The Packer.
🏡 On the home front, I reside in Minot, North Dakota, with my husband, Mike. I'm an active participant in the Chamber, Rotary, and the Minot Area Arts Council, where I wholeheartedly support the local community.
🌍 When I'm not immersed in work or volunteering, you'll often find me exploring new destinations through travel, embarking on DIY home improvement projects, or savoring the tranquility of our farm.
💡 I've also worn many hats, including working as an environmental intern in a coal mine, and played a pivotal role in launching Disney-branded fresh produce at retail. Additionally, I spent 5.5 years living in the vibrant US/Mexico border region.
