Always MORE than just pieces of pretty paper…If there’s one thing I wish all of my couples took to heart is understanding that their invitation is always more than just a piece of paper. It is the introduction of all that their union is to be.

In celebration of that fact, I could not let this day end without sharing these very precious pieces of paper. I did not design them, but these simple, faded pieces of pretty paper mean more to me than any invitation suite I have designed throughout my career.

Why? Because they represent something precious that has survived a reception hall burning down, the uncertainty of a nation just a few weeks after 9/11, the loss of a child and a mother, the joy of two energetic boys and ALL of the moments 20 years together can bring.

These pieces of pretty paper are from the wedding invitation that brought together our friends and family to celebrate our union on this day, 20 years ago. It has been an extraordinary journey thus far and I look forward to all that the next 20 years will bring.
